You pay for value not necessarily immediate need (though that could be a one off as you refer to in dire need but that would be an exception).

I would say that CB would be #4 on that list.

Need elite speed in the SEC on the edge or you're not going to win games against UGA, Bama etc. Elite edge rushers can cover up everything else. The days of us taking 8-10 seconds to get to the QB need to be over soon.

I didn't add edge because we already have young guys like Pierce, Josephs, Herring (now).

i already hear that the UT administration is not real happy that money they thought would have been gifted for projects is going to recruiting budgets outside of their control. tis whole thing is going to be fascinating to watch unfold

For once our money is being donated toward what the fans actually care about - WINNING. Not another $800,000 on new dumbbells that were probably no different from the last ones.

This staff is going to be good here for a long time. Fans need to be patient with trajectory. This staff will get us where we want to be and a team every VOL fan can be proud of. Vitello didn't build it over night, but he made the kids he inherited believe and they set the course. Sound familiar ? I believe in this staff and the young men in Orange and White. Sure they may lose a game maybe several but I promise this team is as hungry as any fan watching on TV or inside Neyland. It has been a long damn time since I could say that with a straight face and really believe it. GBO

i think the interesting thing here is something we have yet to see, and see how it is going to be received, and that is the fact that there are going to be misses as it pertains to NIL. and i hate to say it, but with us being Tennessee, and how over the past 20 years everything seems to eventually blow up in our face, we will probably be an example of a big miss somewhere. not to pick on a kid, but take wanya morris for example. 5 star OL, probably would have been a million dollar NIL investment (probably was anyway, we just didnt hear about it), and i think we can agree that would have been a miss at that price point. how will the fanbase react to a player who doesnt live up to that deal? i think that will be something to see. it is going to add pressure to players to live up to these deals or they will face a new criticism that players who were paid under the table didnt face. another thing i will be interested to see is how it will work when SPYRE says "we have a budget of $10 million dollars this year" and they sign players to that budget, but a redshirt freshman player like a cedric tillman blows up and now you have to start finding money for him. budgets will be fluid and i already hear that the UT administration is not real happy that money they thought would have been gifted for projects is going to recruiting budgets outside of their control. tis whole thing is going to be fascinating to watch unfold

What criticism will they face that they don’t already face if they were being paid under the table? Fans are just fans in the grand scheme of things, the goal for every player is to make it to the NFL usually so if they don’t play well that’s on them and has nothing to do with us…

So much positive came out of last season, just a short while after being as low as we have ever been...but, the thing that I am most proud of above all, is that the team NEVER ONCE gave up; they fought to the end of the game, every game. Yes, the losses were disappointing; but, I was proud of that bunch after every single game.

I agree with it’s our job to close-meaning UT coaching staff and in this case also Spyre if they feel the conditions requested by the recruit is a good investment.

I still believe the excitement over Kasper exceeded any other individual recruit since I joined the forum about the time Butch was canned.

I wasn’t on the board much after the 2021season and NSD until I heard Nico committed. I don’t how long the Nico saga went on.

As far as a crush on Kasper? Strange way of putting it. The whole VN forum was talking about Kasper so I picked up on that excitement the last couple of weeks before he committed to Oregon.
