Seriously...

Mark Dantonio stumps for Big Ten champ in title game - ESPN

Dantonio also said he doesn't understand why the Spartans wouldn't be in contention for a spot in the title game if they were to beat the Buckeyes, assuming other chips fell in their favor as well.

Now I can understand OSU going if they win. But Michigan State? Let's see...MSU played two ranked teams all year minus the Big 10 championship losing to one of the two, Notre Dame which was ranked at #22.

Auburn played five ranked teams, losing to the #6 ranked team and knocked off the #1 and #7 teams.

Missouri played five ranked teams, losing to the #21 team in a two OT game.

And both SEC teams are ranked #3 and 5 respectively.

And why would a #10 team jump all the way to #2 for a BCS CG bid?

Big 10 needs to wake up and smell the strength of schedule.

"Why not us, if certain scenarios take place..."

"Certain scenarios" could be a reference to Duke winning. If MSU and Duke win, it will become a debate between Bama and a one-loss champion from another league.

No, it would turn into a debate between the Missouri/Auburn winner and whether they should play Alabama or another 1-loss conference champion like Oklahoma State.

His comments seemed pretty reasonable to me.

Meyer's on the other hand "not going to talk about it until Sunday" are all well and good except for the fact he has already complained about the BCS not being fair to his team.

I don't know. Maybe I'm just taking pride in the SEC, but I think a one loss team (Auburn or Mizzou) already deserves it over an undefeated OSU personally, much less a one loss MSU. I'm a big proponent of strength of schedule and this year the Big 10 just doesn't have it.

If Ohio State wins the Big 10, they will have earned the right to get their brains kicked in by FSU.

If Michigan State wins the Big 10, they should enjoy their Rose Bowl bid.

That's what I meant.
The MO/AU winner getting in would be assumed at that point.

So, the debate would be between Bama and a 1-loss champion from another league.

Meyer will start campaigning as soon as his game is over if he wins.
He just won't be able to talk up his schedule like he did in 2006.

If Ohio State loses and Missouri wins, Mizzou should jump Bama imo.

I didn't agree with Bama being ranked ahead of Mizzou following this past weekend.

Bama is barely ahead of Mizzou. With an extra win, over the #3 team in the country, Missouri would be comfortably ahead of Bama.

It basically boils down to Bama having the "better" loss.

Mizzou wins this weekend they jump Bama.

And I think AU should still be ranked ahead of Bama, regardless.

Did you forget their loss to 9-3 LSU? If they lose to Mizzou, they stand no chance of staying in the top 3.

It boils down to they beat Bama, and the only reason they would have a second loss is because they had to play an extra game.

Not saying that is the way it will happen, JMO on how it should.

Bama would probably win

Agreed. The 4th qt meltdown against SClt still pisses me off. I would like to think MU would get the nod in NCG with a win over the barn. I dont seeing the polsters picking them over OSU. This is why a playoff is necessary. And you're right, bama would win in a playoff scenario.

If the stars align and all the underdogs win this weekend, I think it should be mizzou and Bama for the national title honestly. I would take 1 loss SEC teams any day over 1 loss little 10 and ACC teams.

That's what he's saying. He's already putting the SEC champ in. The opponent comes down to Bama, MSU, Ok State.
