I want Ohio State to play in the championship game get absolutely hammered just to prove a point.

On one hand GAV, I want to agree with you but watching ND get dey azz beat last year wasn't entertaining. Maybe it would be different being OSU.

Someone needs to explain to me how fsu plays a tougher schedule than O$U.

Hint: you cant. Because it doesnt.

Will debate the rest later. Off to teach the youth of TN

With FSU it's not the quality of the opponent (which admittedly isn't much better than OSU), it's the fashion in which they beat the brakes off literally everyone they played. OSU did not look nearly as dominant all year.

FSU gets the benefit of the doubt based on the eyeball test.

Many are critical of Ohio State based on their previous track record in BCS title games...and they don't pass the eyeball test like FSU does.

Both schools played a weak schedule.

Yeah but at the same time, we've seen that song and dance before in 2004 with USC and Oklahoma (and Auburn on the outside).

All that turns into is the media declaring the winning team is "so good that it wouldn't have mattered which team was matched against them; they'd still have won."

While I don't want to see another arse whipping, I fully acknowledge seeing OSU lose would be great. Added bonus would be seeing Meyer lose playing a game he lobbied for by being a hypocrit.

I kind of find it funny 2 years ago people on here were saying Mizzou is a joke and they don't need to sniff the SEC let alone be a member of it.....now everybody is all "yeah...yeah...they need to be in the NC game yeah..SEC SEC SEC"

You're kidding, right?

OSU hasn't played a top 10 team in the regular season since when, 2009??

FSU beat 2 top 10 teams this year, and did it in convincing fashion. Granted those teams aren't top 10 now, but that's partially because FSU stomped them.

I'm not sure how you're justifying this argument.

FSU passes the eyeball test.

Ohio State looks like the same elite Big 10 program that can't hang with elite teams from the South.

All this would be solved if the premier programs of the Big 10 would schedule OOC teams with a pulse during the regular season and not get embarrassed by them. Do that and this conversation is moot.

Of course I mentioned that on an SI comment thread and I was attacked by little 10 homers about the cupcakes the SEC play and they assured me the SEC would lose 8/10 times to the likes of OSU and MSU.

according to Sagarin Rankings:

Strength of Schedule:
fsu: 66
O$U: 61

-v- Top Ten Teams
fsu: 0-0
O$U: 1-0

-v- Top 30 Teams
fsu: 1-0
O$U: 2-0

Im not saying O$U is a great team, and I think they will be beaten by MSU this weekend anyways. But the "weak Big Ten Team" argument makes no sense when you are comparing it to fsu coming in with a weaker schedule.

all of the conferences need to fix this.

The main problem with the Big Ten right now is that um sucks, and that makes everyone think that the bigten sucks with them.

It is a new world, and people need to get used to seeing someone else at the top of the bigten.

It is probably a bit of a down year for the bigten, but not a weak year.

The top teams, O$U, MSU, Wisconsin, Penn St, would fare very well in the SEC. In general, aside from one or two teams (each direction) I think the two leagues are more evenly matched than you folks might want to admit.

last comment (have to get back to work):

If fsu was as good as advertised, they would have hung 60+ on Florida. That is the worst Gator team I have seen since 1979, and that was the first game since 79 that we played where I KNEW going into it that we had no chance to win.

Bama should be the odd man out. If Saban has half a brain he'll find the highest ranked kicker and sign him. He's given 2 key games away because of a dang kicker. Personally I hope Mizzou upsets Auburn and MSU beats the piss outta OSU.

You have nothing to worry about. It would take FSU and OSU both losing for Bama to make the BCSNCG.

I have not watched a full game this year. I have been a Gator since 1976. I survived 1979, and this was the first week since then that I knew we didnt have a chance to win.

Fisher should have hung one on us, and his reluctance to would tick me off if I were a semenhole.

Uhh when did OSU play a Top 10 team?

And I feel pretty confident Miami and Clemson were both top 10 when they played FSU.

Besides isn't this the same site that has our SOS like in the 30's?

Zero credibility at that point. NOOOO OONNNEEE has played a harder schedule than us. Not even close to disputable.

Poor michigan state has no chance. No way the conference/officials allow it.

I've thought about this. Wouldn't Michigan State go to the Rose Bowl regardless? Win: get automatic Rose Bowl bid. Lose: represent B1G in Rose Bowl because OSU won't. I don't think there's a team behind Michigan State that would jump them for it if they lose.

Wisconsin would be the only team close. But they've been to Pasadena for the past couple of years, and the Rose Bowl would probably want MSU instead.

I agree with you there 100%. Would you think Wisconsin's crap the bed loss to Penn State further hurts their case?
