I might be less concerned for his studies than I would be that he end up becoming an alcoholic if he keeps that up. Six or seven nights a week in a bar? 😲

🤣

At least you aren't paying for his drinks?

I know….

Having been home for winter break he claims he drinks more at home because it’s free and socializes at the bar mostly at school…

Well, wouldn't "impertinent question" be a waste of "allotted time" in a press conference?? Honest question!
I can see restricting questions about baby Caldwell until a certain date then allowing those questions. The focus should remain on the team and the games. I could see the press conferences devolving into baby Caldwell’s impending arrival!

I got some pertinent information concerning the arrival of Kim's baby from a woman sitting next to me at tonight's game. She is in contact with some of the medical staff assigned to the Lady Vols and staff. She said she heard the plan for the arrival of the baby is as follows: If Kim doesn't have the baby by this Sunday then the doctors will induce labor on Sunday and deliver the baby. Kim will miss the Vanderbilt game and Jenna Burdette will be the fill-in coach for that game. If everything goes according to plan then Kim will be back coaching the team for the Texas game. She did not know what gender the baby was.

I am honored that you chose to drop that news flash as a reply to my comment!

But, they'll be at Candy on Sunday. Did they mean Monday, her original due date?

Sunday night after getting back from Nashville? Says she plans to coach that game. Should roll back into town around 9pm ish.

It'll be Monday.
All I know is what the lady said. I don't know how valid the information may be. I assume they will induce labor after she gets back. But that would be cutting it very close. She risks having the baby on a plane or bus, whatever means they travel to Nashville with.

Whoever that woman sitting next to you at the game and gave you the private information regarding the Caldwells' plan should be ashamed, and that info really should be removed from this public forum. The other day Kim made a point of saying they have a plan but were not going to share it. Now that untrustworthy, indiscreet woman has told their private business and you have put it on a forum that gets thousands of views.

What a shame.

Sounds like disinformation to throw off the Nazis. I'd wager inducement Sunday. Back on the court for Thursday's game. God willing successful delivery and healthy baby and Mama.

Kinda common sense information. Nothing worth shaming somebody for sharing information we're all interested in.

Except that Kim did not want the information shared. Does that not matter?

It's quite a bit different to speculate than it is for an insider privy to actual private information telling it to strangers.

My God, is she planning to at least lay down for the delivery?

This info has the "my sister's cousin's hairdresser's neice said . . ." vibe. But if true, I would beseech them one more time to reconsider. Bonding with a brand new baby, getting everyone off to a good start those precious first few weeks, is so very vital. Please, please don't hurry. Don't make it an afterthought, or an inconvenience to be planned around. There will be many, many basketball seasons for CKC but only one start to this precious and irreplaceable life. Take time for it.

In the age of zoom, CKC can do every single thing remotely she could do in person. Be present physically for the child.

People sure are sanctimonious over someone sharing information about a baby being born. And I bet this forum gets 10 views a day outside of regulars, if that.

Simmer down.

I'm just an old fogey who was taught what is now apparently an outdated set of values relating to folks' rights to privacy.

Maybe someone will go big for the info-starved public and snap a candid photo of Kim spread-eagle with the baby actually coming out of her body for us all to see! Wouldn't that be amazing?!

🙄 Carry on.

I really feel for Kim and understand why she would want her plans to be private. If she takes extended leave, there may be those who blame whatever happens with team performance on that. If she doesn't take extended leave, she may be criticized potentially as prioritizing her career. The truth is it's very hard to win as a woman and even harder for mothers, and she has to do what's right for her. She also really cares for her seniors, and she has stated that too is time she cannot get back. I understand her desire to protect whatever decision she has made as long as possible.

If CKC is back on sidelines 3 or 4 days after giving birth, then she is one tough cookie.

Or someone to whom appearing to be a tough cookie, a mean chipmunk, is the main priority. There are no medals for immediate post partum heroics. There are many drawbacks. Once she sees that child, she may change her mind.

Or not. Her decision to make. Just hope all are healthy and happy however they choose to spend that irreplacable time.

I do think Kim made a very wise decision to not have her pregnancy be the main story, or barely a story at all, during the season so far. A great example that women can both work and be Moms. One doesn't need to dominate the other.

You seem easily agitated. Might try switching to decaf.
