You should not have to apologize!!! Some folks just don't get the idea of "medical privacy." The blabber mouth in the stands should have kept her info to herself and it should not have been posted here.

It is not about "wagging fingers" but respecting the wishes of the Caldwell family with regard to their family medical situation. Sure, this report may be nothing but BS but the spirit of the post was, "psst, I got some inside info on how the coach is going to handle her pregnancy!"

That does not make the board look good at all.

It’s a fan forum. And while I wouldn’t have shared the info, public figures are public figures and there is little to no privacy for them. I do respect privacy. However, it’s a truth that public figures should know secrets rarely stay secret.

It was when you drew a hypothetical parallel between private plans being publicly shared, and some supposed "candid photo of Kim spread eagle with the baby actually coming out of her body for us all to see!" that you seemed a bit too wound up over it.

Well, that is a self-fulfilling prophecy isn't? People on this LV fan board can make it true or not through their choices. There is not some invariable law that the coach of the LVs has to have her birth plan exposed on this forum.

Famous people request privacy all the time, particularly around medical matters and when paparazzi types expose their info, they are generally regarded as contemptible actors.

Since it is a fan board, does that not also mean that people have a right to disagree with the legitimacy of this post?

I do think Kim made a very wise decision to not have her pregnancy be the main story, or barely a story at all, during the season so far. A great example that women can both work and be Moms. One doesn't need to dominate the other.

Your points are all legit but CKC is an adult women and we can trust she will make the best decision for her, her baby, and family. If that means taking some time off, great or if she feels that she can get back in the coaching groove faster and still have the bonding time, then that is it as well.

Situationally, a first year coach having a baby in the middle of the season has to manage some some trade-offs. I assume she has a fantastic support system which should help a lot in mitigating those trade-offs. Dad can pick up some slack too.

Great post!
One thing I would add is that with excellent pre-natal care etc. we have all become used to deliveries going as planned. The truth is this is pretty traumatic for mother and child (and dad especially if something goes wrong). If God forbid, there is a problem one would want to be able process that w/o a whole bunch of people analyzing every thing that does or does not go according to the published timetable.
Don’t get me wrong! Everything will be fine! Healthy, mature mom! Excellent care! All good!!

So to review we have a reported due date not confirmed by anyone except to say Coach Kim C confirmed any day now.

We have a birth plan that was overheard in the stands and no idea if true or not.

This is starting to feel like a Guden thread. I am taking all this in knowing none of it may be true but possibly all of it is, love it.

Best wishes to Coach hope she has a healthy little one and speedy recovery.

Legitimacy? It’s just an observation and reflection of decades of perspectives on public figures. There’s even case law on this. Doesn’t mean I agree with it.

If another coach has to fill in for Kim, for any duration of time, wonder what affect that may during practice time and games. We’re getting into our toughest stretch of the year.

Shouldn't have any. We live in the age of zoom, Kim can "be there".

Also, her main asst who is expected to fill the in person role has been with her forever and is already in charge of subbing. Gabe and Lazo have been SEC coaches for years. No reason for anything to change.
