If Dunbar stays, she is crazy. imvvvvho

Holly has totally misused her.

She needs to go somewhere that they shoot the ball.

We shoot the ball we just can't figure out how to score. Remember we practice defense during practice. Who needs to practice offense? Even the defense, at times, looked piss poor tonight.

They will not win games against better teams unless their guards/wings can consistently score from beyond the arc and open up the middle for Graves/Russell. Russell lacks the aggression of a player like Izzy and cannot take over a game. Graves is their best player, and she cannot operate in traffic.

Diamond and Te'a clearly think they are better than they are, and it shows in their play, attitude and shot selection.

Yep. This team has no fight in them.

The offensive issues should of been addressed in the off season after that poor offensive performance against Maryland in the Elite 8. As of now, I see UConn, South Carolina, Notre Dame and Texas/Ohio State as #1 seeds. I do not see Tennessee beating any of them to get to the Final Four.

TN (if they make it to the NCAA) will be a one and done. Holly Warlick must go...NOW!

The answer is very simple: We need a new coach. Anybody who doesn't see that should be prepared to watch the degradation of this program continue.

Final Four??? At this point I'm not sure if this team will make the tournament.

Dunbar can't shoot, and is a liability on defense.

Gule seems to have a crush on Dunbar. She is cute no doubt but shooting 9-31 from behind the arc, not exactly a % that will strike fear in the hearts of defenses and she is a massive liability on defense.

She has improved and I think she will become solid contributor by her senior year; right now, not so much.

See above. DeMoss...maybe Tyler Summitt, if he's ready. But, do you remember the difference in the Lady Vols when DeMoss left for Kentucky--then Texas--then came back here? I'm telling you, she is to the Lady Vols program what Cutcliffe was to Fulmer.

DeMoss is more of the same without the motivational power of CPS. Probably an upgrade on Holly but not the answer. Tyler, nepotism seldom makes for good hiring decisions.

I was referring to the preseason goals. Realistically, I think they may make it to the Sweet 16 and that's about it. Things have really change regarding this program. I think a lot of fans are frustrated and have lost their passion. Underachieving have become the norm and that's sad. With the coaching and the way this team executes on the court, I don't see the Lady Vols making the Final Four during Warlick's tenure. I thought things would improve and the Lady Vols would become a national threat, but I just don't see it happening anytime soon.

Shooting less then 30% speaks for itself. This team needs a lot of offense. They simply can not sustain a consistent offense. Some say it is the head coach and some say it is the players, maybe the answer is both. This team makes a lot of idiot decisions on offense. This must be the worst collection of 5 star offensive players ever recruited. This team lacks a lot of effort and desire.

I gave up on Holly after Stanford but then she got me rethinking things with the OSU and Mizzou wins. Hey, maybe the apathetic performance at Stanford really was due to the travel disruptions, lost sleep etc.

But this effort and Holly's recurrent inability to get the team to follow the game plan (which does not show well on the players either) has me back to thinking that she is not respected by the players and not in control. A coach can compensate for not being a great X and Os type if he/she is able to motivate and get a team playing unselfishly and cajole hard efforts (not giving into fatigue as CPS used to say). Pat Summit was not a great X and O's coach but she had unsurpassed motivational skills and commanded respect.

Holly is falling short.

Nice post. The questions is does Holly know how to handle a star (no shine tho) such as Diamond, or how to motivate a player like Diamond. She has to make to Final 4 in order for us to stay competitive. I stills say we're one year away. We shall soon find out!

Cos as of right now, Diamond looks like Syvlia Hatchell sent her to sink our program. ijs lol

I think our expectations of DD were unrealistic to start with. Both Mavunga and Gray were better players at UNC. I think what DD brought to Tenn is primarily an attitude problem.

If that attitude is used correctly to motivate, push for excellence, raise the standard of play, gives us an edge, a swag, then its a good thing.

Yes, I think you're right our expectation were high. But they have been adjusted. lol She is still getting into shape, but you don't walk, pout, and give up points to pout after you have decided to just do your own thing. Take this lost and criticism like a big gurl cos it was visible. WE all saw it, we are knowledgeable fans.

Nared is still getting into shape, Russell still rounding into shape, thats whom I would build my team around those three but if she is too injured to play defense, and press cos she's in pain, she shouldn't be playing.

I thought Gray was the better player her freshman too, but I thought Russell and Diamond had the most upside of anyone in their class.

Mavunga is better than both Graves and Russell, but Russell will take a huge step after the season. You can see her getting better!

I'm curious about some of the comments here regarding the attitude problems of Diamond and T'ea. Diamond was not only the NFOY, but she was instrumental in getting the highly rated quartet to UNC in the first place.

Has that suddenly changed since she's been at Tenn? I realize getting players to join you at a school is not the same as being a good team player, but she must have exhibited some sort of leadership skills when helping convince those guys to come to UNC (unless I'm way overestimating the impact she had).

Diamond and Te'a are good friends. What 'tude problems are people referring to?

As for the "fire Holly" bandwagon, you think it would be easy to just hire another HC away to Tennessee? What HC is going to leave their program to take over a team that just had it's HC fired? Mid season I might add?

I'm actually less concerned about how this team is playing at this very moment and more concerned about recruiting. We struck out in 2016 and are bordering on becoming desperate for the 2017 class. I guess the concern there would be that if we not only continue to play poorly, but show poor coaching, top kids may not be interested in taking a chance on coming to the greatest program in the history of the sport...

The worst part about it is that the one person who has the power to make a change (Hart) doesn't seem to give a rip about the LVs.

After reading about his past at Alabama and his tenure here, I don't think he has much concern or respect for women. Unfortunately this probably extends to how he feels about the Lady Vols.

As for our coach, I don't want her fired. I want her to be a leader and coach, instead of their best friend. You don't see McGraw or Geno with this attitude. If she can't do that, then she needs to step down, not be fired.

#1 Player in TENNESSEE is going to UConn. What does that say? She "hates to lose" & considered Vandy & Ole Miss before choosing Geno.

After watching the Lady Vols for many years with Pat Summit as coach it is my opinion that we are in a new era of basketball. Holly is not the right fit for Tennessee. If she was head coaching material she would have been a head coach years ago. Holly has always been the one to comfort the players after Pat has scolded them. Holly is their equal/friend because of years of buddy buddy to them. She has not been able to transition to the role of head coach and probably will not ever be able to do so. At this point we have what we have and that will not change in the short run. Better get comfortable with win/lose basketball for a while. I predicted before the season started that this team would lose 10-12 games this year and that may be low. We will see.
