We went to fla game also. It was nothing like i expected. We didnt have but one trouble with fans and everyone working from parking to concessions were very nice.
The cops were not. We were told several times not to stand on the bench in front of us and told to keep our feet and legs out of isle. All the while one belligerent drunk fan behind us giving us hell and a drunk girl puking behind us and they didnt do anything. Of course we told the drunk guy we were gonna whoop his ass if he didnt shut up. He shut up

I went to the swamp twice. Sat in a group of UT fans in the upper deck both times. This was in our hey day and I have never felt more intimidated in my life. Fans to and from the game were rude. Plenty of cursing....I had my wife and kids with me. Won't ever go back. Place is a typical swamp, hot, sweaty, wet, with plenty of animals you just don't care to be around without a gun in hand.

Never had a problem there in 11 or so trips..sorry to hear you did..it just discourages the pussies on here that need another excuse to watch a good college game on their ass kicking 100 inch TeeVee

I'll vote for Georgia being the worst place I've been to also. Fans were jerks and they keyed my literally brand new car. I didn't go to FL this year but have been a couple of times and didn't have any issues.

Out of 8 of you guys, someone should have taken a video of the situation and made the cop turd famous.

Which year(s) did you make the trip?

'93 and '95.....didn't have the kids with us in '93. Got dog cussed both times to and from the game. We left in early in the 4th in 93 and had cars swerving in the street to splash water on us. Was a gully washer. Pee thrown in cups on some of the alumni sitting in the lower deck.

I don't doubt anything you say about the '93 game.

The fan bases were at each other's throats back then.

I think we must of been sitting close to each other... lol Don't remember the girl puking but i'm sure it happened...

I'm def not against going back.. I guess I'll just know what to expect next time. Other than the pick cops and ONE douche fan.. I had a great time. It was a really fun place to tailgate.

It fascinates me to read about the bad experiences when in fact, with my own two eyes, have seen gator fans act the same way in our stadium and campus.. the drunker they are the more they think they are all that, trying to park in areas that require a pass, cussing the parking attendants and those behind them blowing to get in to park.. remarkable! Too much sun sure screws people up.. We refuse to travel and be treated like crap by any fan, particularly gators and dawgs. OP, I'd of gone above that policeman's head and made a formal complaint.. there's no reason to be treated like that!!

GO VOLS..
GO BIG ORANGE ...

i've never had problems at florida games---good tailgating people and only drunk fraternity people ever yell at you. the worst experience I've had is at uga and tuscaloosa--drunken rednecks roaming campus and yelling at opposing fans.

First of all, I want to apologize for writing a book, but I just want to share my experience. I know this is a couple of weeks old but I don't get on here as much as I used to. Anyways, A couple of weeks ago my and my buddies made the trip down to Florida. They had been to the swamp several times but it was my first time. I wasn't sure what to expect but we had a great tailgate and everyone we met was extremely nice. It wasn't even the least bit hostile... at all... We went into the game and got to our seats. We had bought 8 seats together. Well the seats were right in the corner of the endzone. The row only sat 8 people and the bench had an angle on the corner were 2 people sit. The row in front of us is exactly the same size but only sits 7. So they were a little more comfortable than us cramming 8 guys into a little row. Both my buddies sitting on each isle were repeatedly told by the police (not ushers) that if they didn't get their legs out of the isle they would have to leave. They kept bugging us while Florida fans were standing in the Isle watching the game. We were sitting hip to hip in the 90 degree heat. It was miserable. We were sitting mostly in a mix of TN fans and Florida Fans and the TN band was only like one section to our right. After we had the Pick6 we went a little wild and got really excited. The bleachers in front of me were only like 4in higher than the concrete and I stepped on them during the excitement to high five my buddies. I was immediately grabbed by the cop and told that if my foot hit the bleacher again I would be escorted out.. I was really apologetic and said Sorry 100 times. He walked off. Well in the second quarter a couple of Florida fans were standing in front of us... so naturally we stood up.. It's no big deal to me... I don't care about people standing. One of my buddies is about 6-6 250+ and was standing up next to me and this absolutely rude FL guy THREE rows up kept yelling at him saying "I WISH THAT BIG M***F***** would sit down blah blah blah and so I just about lost it and turned around and told him to just simply shutup. His reply was "what are you going to do about it" of course my hot head "I said come down here and find out" Why one guy that was 5'7" tops was trying to start a fight with 8 guys I don't think I will ever understand... Anyways.. I turn around and of course the Cop is back... With back up from a State Trooper. Surprisingly I wasn't escorted out. I think mainly because I never cussed back at the guy. But instead I was told to sit down and that if any of us stood up again we would be kicked out. There wasn't much to cheer about the rest of the game anyways but Florida fans in front of me were allowed to stand and block my view while I had to remain seated. It was complete BS.. I turned around and gave a gesture to the cop like "WTF you're gonna let these guys stand in front of me but I can't stand????" He wouldn't even acknowledge me... Even Florida fans were embarrassed by the cop acting like that towards us. That ONE guy behind us and the COP were the only A-HOLES we met the entire weekend. Florida fans were apologizing to us for them deliberately picking on us and not leaving us alone. It was just crazy.. I mean I know that kind of thing probably happens everywhere but it was just complete BS and ruined not just my experience but a lot of people around us. I guess I was just wondering if anyone else had a similar experience or if this just only happens to me...

Yeah, it was pretty nasty for a few years. This was a year or two after the fax scandal wasn't it? It's been so long I can't remember. :)
