BAD News Brewing in Gainesville

And inevitably win. The NCAA doesn't want to screw up a 6-0 Gators team that can make it to Atlanta to play Alabama.

If they are going the flu medication route, that is a proven loser. No Olympic athlete has ever overturned a positive test with that lame excuse. We will see what the NCAA does.

And for the record, if he's out, this MAY open the East back up. I hope so, but something tells me they'd have to lose half their D to roids as well. That D is legit and can win them a lot of games.

The 247 article said this would be a 1 year calendar suspension. If that's true he won't play us next year.

Vandymania:

So ... is it that crazy to think:
1. 5-3 may be enough to win the division (UF is 4-0, but still has to play LSU, Georgia, and us)
2. We can go 5-3.
All starts this weekend!

Muhahahaha!

Uh... How about, it was an accident. He doped with Lance Armstrong's blood?

Interesting you mention Lance because his buddy Floyd Landis (2006 Tour de France champ) tried the flu medication crap too after a positive result for banned substances. I know that's where the Gators will go and make fools of themselves in the process. There are a lot of football players who get the flu and take meds for it during the season and they don't test positive for banned substances. Florida should show some integrity here and just admit the truth... but they will fight it.

Seriously - Is his crime such that wins can be vacated? Didn't Bama have to vacate some wins because of one guy playing illegally? Seems like they wait until 2 years after the crime to do the vacating. Auburn would have won a national championship if USC had been punished in a timely manner for Reggie Bush's infractions.

It's really not. And that was done after the season was already over (possibly even a year or two after).

Not to mention, vacating doesn't award us a win; that requires forfeiture.

But it removes an SEC loss in the East race, correct?

Tested posited for Ligandrol. 1st positive automatically triggers a 2nd test for confirmation. He failed both.

For us? No.

Vacating just means the winning team can't count the win; the losing team (or teams) still has to count the loss.

They'd have to come out and say "Florida has to forfeit its previous wins" for us to no longer have it counted as a conference loss.
