Baffled about Lady Vols

Void in the leadership. Not enough vocal leaders in the clubhouse and the chemistry is just not good.

There are some selfish players and no one is bothering to remedy the situation.

YES. This is ANOTHER problem that we've had for years.

What is so complicated about this?

They also had better attendance at their games than the mean in 2019

USWNT average attendance 8% greater than USMNT in 2019

You made a blanket statement that the women's team generate less revenue than the men;s team. That has been proven factually wrong and upheld in court. Whether or not the men's team has in recent years, altered the landscape does not change the historical facts.

But of course your "reminder" is indicative of your agenda. Right wingers and anti-feminist jumped all over that result, again overlooking one interesting fact:

You don't have to look to hard to find this fact on big ole internet.

You have stated that you consider women's sport inherently inferior and treat that statement, not as an opinion but an objective state of the world.

You do you man but WTF are you posting on a board devoted to a women's sports. Is there not a board for a "real" sport like pro men's bowling you can hang out at?
Wow. Look. Let's go through this again. There was a women's world cup in 2019. Of course there was more attendance. How about 2022? I'm guessing men had more. I don't care. It matters not to me. I personally said I don't care for women's sports as much as men. I'm not right wing. It's just factual that men's sports are watched at a much higher level. This is not an indictment on the lady vols. I'm guessing the men's team has higher attendance than the lady vols. You probably watch the lady vols more than the men's team. If you went on to the men's forum and said it's difficult for you to watch men's sports but you thought the team was poorly coached I wouldn't think you're sexist or left wing or anything of the sort. I would probably be interested in your thoughts as to why. Sheez folks...

And how do you propose this happens. This staff has had plenty of time to recruit better talent. Hasn't happened. Not wanting to point out that there seem to be quiet a few blonds on the squad. Blonds? And our coach?? Birds of a feather - - But I have...

Who is the blond?

Speaking of outfits, I really hated those sleeveless hoodie things the coaches wore the other night. I kinda hated everything at that point though. Also, love the blue unis but that black rolled down waist band is not the most complimentary.

I didn't think they were sleeveless. I thought they were Summitt Blue with grey sleeves.

I detest zone,,, but I will use it if I have to and sometimes YOU HAVE TO!
ABSOLUTELY LOL.....kellie needs to take a page out georgia zone book thats one of the best zone defenses i have seen this year and you can do alot of things with it especially with our size...n ik we will take a drop in rebounding but, defensively we are atrocious against penetration, but then again we cant guard the 3 either so idk at this point

I think they play the matchup zone and it keeps them in games as they are not that great offensively. We could be better in that type of zone, but that 2-3 we were trying the other night was terrible.

Gosh where did I get such ideas:
Women's sports are not as fun to watch, exciting to watch, or as good of a product as men's sports
.

No one is debating that there are coaching issues with the LVs but why bring up this judgment about the inferiority of women's if your "main point" is about the coaching quality. Misogyny R US?

And popularity is not an inherent standard of quality. More people bought Nickleback records than they did Hendrix records.

There's a two word fix to this problem. Kara Lawson. The one who should've been hired to begin with. She has duke playing better ball then any Kellie team has yet. I love Kellie but she just can't coach with the big dogs. Hell I even like looking at her on the sidelines as she is pretty but pretty don't win games.

I would really like to watch Duke's games coming up against Virginia Tech and NC State. I haven't seen them play, but their record looks good.

I have always thought that at the end of games when the bench players are on the court is a good time to implement a zone defense. As someone mentioned the team size should be an asset in a zone. It takes practice to work a matchup zone, but that is what practice is for.
Muffett and her championship ND team played the matchup zone as the bench was decimated by knee injuries that year.
I think Justine would be fine in a zone, particularly in the middle. JMO

You haven't listened to a single thing I have said. I tried to keep it relevant. I consistently brought it back to my original point. It was everyone else who was trying to find some juicy nugget to get upset about. Read all of my posts. I watch some of the games. I don't watch a lot of women's sports because I find it difficult to watch. But, what I have seen (I've watched three games this year) the coaching is below an acceptable level. I tried to keep it focused, it was super sensitive posters who tried to make it about something different than I was. Sheez folks...

"It's not me, it's EVERYONE else" 🤪 red flag

They looked really good against Notre Dame. Game was low quality offense, but both defenses played well in Dukes 57 to 52 win.

Run mainly man to man, but every now and then call a zone to make the defense "think"...its quite simple..3-1-1 ,,, extend the perimeter defenders and give the posts permission to knock the crap out of anyone who penetrates (initiate the Jordan rules for a game or two)...If we're going to get called for chippy fouls so quickly and frequently by the zebras,,,let the players earn them!

> Why are people on the Lady vol board so upset with me just because I think women's sports suck and I can barely watch them?

Speaking for myself I'm not upset.

People are different and it's not unsurprising that some people would find an interesting that others enjoy. I don't get any enjoyment out of watching soccer or golf, but I know some people do. If someone asked me how I feel about watching those ports of the awesome say it doesn't do much for me. However, that far too much to do to spend time searching out a soccer or golf forum to tell people that I don't enjoy watching it. The defendant puzzling but then people are different. Maybe it's something you enjoy.

We definitely need to start scouting Kara. Maybe she knows some freakin' inbounds plays for us to use.

For tonight's practice, we need for the Lady Vols to watch the guys play at Vandy. They get a hand in face of the shooters.

Of course, we are greatly missing our rim protector (TK) at full health.
If we had their speed at least we could cover players. To many players beating our players for open shots.

It's obvious how good/bad this team is with the games vs Stanford...uconn and LSU...which is an average at best. It's ridiculous we were ranked #5 to start and now can't even crack the top 25. That shows talent is there but the coaching isn't. Even though we fired Holly it doesn't mean we can't fire Kellie and GET IT RIGHT. It's a travesty a program with this rich history starting out as top 5 team isn't even in the top 25. It's shameful. Kellie is nice...she's pretty...etc etc but if we hadn't fired Holly already Kellie would be gone. She bombed at NC state and had some success w MO State and is former Vol player. That's her resume and combined w this and past failure here....it isn't good enough. I guarantee this team is going nowhere in ncaa tourney and that isn't acceptable....nor should it be.

Is there such a thing as over coaching sometimes it just looks like they are trying to do plays and the plays are covered defensively and they force it anyway. This happened a lot in the Miss St game. You got to be able to innovate as a basketball team and sometimes we look like we are not able to do that.

I'm still giving CKH until the end of this season, but that doesn't mean I haven't started a list of who's out there.
