Bama back to mediocrity next year

I think that John Parker Wilson played over his head this year. I think two years under Saban actually turned him into a viable SEC QB.

That being said he will not be replaced that easily. Look for the rest of the SEC to load the box and pin their ears back against Bama, much like they did against UT and South Carolina, UK, and Vandy this year.

I doubt they go undefeated, but they will still be the class of the SEC West barring a miracle.

People expecting Alabama to fall apart are in for a disappointment of epic proportions.

A QB that can hand off, not fumble, and throw it within 8 ft of Julio will be a serviceable QB at FAMA next year. Saban has this team playing solid, with very good O and D lines. They don't beat themselves and they pound the rock until they wear you down. FAMA will probably win the West next year even with an unproven QB.

Bama won't fall apart next year but they did over achieve this year. I've seen this 3 times now at Bama. The suck for a while then they finally get an us against the world mentality and play extremely well AS A TEAM. Dubose did it, Shula did it and now Saban has done it.

The talent level will be going up and the West will be weak next year (maybe next couple) so Bama should do fine but this team was special in how they played. That is tough to duplicate year in and year out.

Bama's success this year has came from their physical OL. They lose two for sure. Antoine Caldwell and Marlon Davis. Andre Smith will be a first round pick so he's probably gone. So replace a OT, OG, and OC. They could potentially lose the other guard, but I doubt it.

Saying this, it will be kind of hard for them to have this year's success next season. Replace a QB, 3/5 OL, 2 TE's, their best safety, and their best DL in Greenwood. Terrence Cody is also rated the number DT to be taken right now as well. They are losing a lot in key places, but they have Saban so anything can happen. I see them losing at least 2-3 games next year, if not more.

In about 3 years we'll have to beat them twice to win the SEC. Sounds fun.

Agreed.

They aren't going to fall flat on their face next season but they aren't going undefeated either.
