I guarantee Tidefans.com has this type of thread all the time (I've seen them). The key difference is that Tidefans.com wouldn't allow me on there defending UT the way you rightly defend your team. Thank Freak for that.

Actually, a UT fan, McDad, did talk smack directly to me after the thread had been going mostly smack free. Which inspired the debate about vicarious living, which morphed into the debate about irony. But the rest of your post is accurate.
