All due respect to Clemson, but their tackles were holding Alabama on nearly every pass play. The illegal pick/offensive PI on the earlier TD should have been called.

Think difference was;

1) Watson was good but really the big time grabs by Clemson WRs
2) Sark being way to conservative on calls in 2nd and 3rd quarters

I was for Bama b/c I see Clemson as more of a recruiting rival with UT.

Still I appreciate an entertaining game.

There was absolutely no reason to call a penalty on the first "pick play". The Clemson WR ran to a spot and stood there. He's under no obligation to move out of the Bama DB's way.

It was actually a very legal play by Clemson..and the exact same one AL beat LSU with in 2014.

Wow really? I know they used the trick play where you toy around with the eligible receiver rules, but didn't know that they ran a pick. Just looked like a basic fade at first glance.

The Gumps got beat with an illegal play............love it.

Not illegal. Look at it, he didn't hit the other defender. Also, he didn't initiate contact. The bammer db grabbed him and pulled him down. I rewatched the play a bunch. It was legal.

The NCAA rules site is currently down, but the first pick was OPI because Clemson intentionally ran into the defender interfering with his opportunity to catch the ball. The Clemson player is looking at and moving toward the defender, NOT, the ball or making a play on the ball.

The game winning pick is legal because the Clemson player creating the "pick" is looking back for the ball, therefore the contact is incidental because all involved players are trying to make a play.

I have no idea why you guys are even concerned with whether it was PI or not. Alabama was given its fair share of calls all night and all season. The better team won. So oops.

When he does, Dabo will be his successor.

Really no reason for him to leave the powerhouse he has built at Clemson. I'm sure Clemson would be willing to match whatever bamer offers to keep him. I think he stays at Clemson. Much easier road to the playoffs too.

Agree with what you say. We'll see if the draw of going to his alma mater is too much to resist.

Maybe, maybe not. Why leave Clemson....got a great thing going there in likely an easier conference to get to the playoff in. Why succeed Saban, which will be virtually impossible, when you just beat him at Clemson where you've got a program going great guns?

Win , lose or draw, Bama will get anybody they want. Maybe not true for Clemson. Because of recruiting, I wanted Clemson to lose. They have been the thorn in our side the last couple of years.:realmad:

If that was true Saban would have never been there, rather Rich Rod.

Also, not easy to follow a legend. I'm not sure their next coach will be a splash hire, probably someone internal.

Let's just hope it's a couple years from now and not 10.
