If you guys remember our recruiting class after we won the NC, we started our decline after that point. We had a pretty impressive class, but things started to shift in the SEC.

Can't do much better recruiting than what Bamer has done the past 5yrs or so...but, when you consider how well Bama's division rivals are recruiting, as well, they are in for a tough ride.

LSU and A&M had No.2 and No.3. Auburn was like No.8. All you have to do...the Denver Broncos can attest to this...is simply have a bad day. One bad day at the office and there goes (usually) a shot at the NC.

In fact, despite them having stellar recruiting classes, they have yet to go undefeated during the regular season, under Saban. It's about to get a whole lot worse for them, competition-wise. Not only do they have to try and get through the gauntlet of TAM, LSU and Auburn...but they also have us to contend with as well.

It's not going to be a cake-walk for them, anymore, in Knoxville.

IMO everyone's getting better in the SEC, even KY. Should be a fun ride over course of next few years.

Bama isn't going anywhere any time soon.

As long as Saban is their HC, our work will always be cut out for us with them on our schedule .

I'd like to alternate Bama with other West division schools. Till the Vols get back up to their level, we shouldn't have to play them every single year. The age-old rivalry just isn't the same as it used to be; Bama-Day doesn't feel the same as it did back in the sixties and seventies.

You're referring to Bama "going down" in reference to them not playing in the NC game. That's not going down. Where UT is, is down. I would love to have Bama's issues.

They went undefeated in 2009, by the way.

They will be good as long as Saban is there. If you pull in the number one recruiting class every year your not going anywhere. They will be good as long as they do not hire Kiffin, and Dooley like we did. Oh, they done hired Kiffin. :eek:lol:

Bama's recruiting class after the 2009 NC won 2 national championships.

LSU and A&M had No.2 and No.3. Auburn was like No.8. All you have to do...the Denver Broncos can attest to this...is simply have a bad day. One bad day at the office and there goes (usually) a shot at the NC.

Bama won national titles in 2011 and 2012 after bad days at the office. And had the new playoff been in place in 2013, Bama would have been in it despite the loss to Auburn.

In fact, despite them having stellar recruiting classes, they have yet to go undefeated during the regular season, under Saban.

Bama went 12-0 in the regular season in '08, and went undefeated all together in '09. You seem to be a real history buff.

It's not going to be a cake-walk for them, anymore, in Knoxville.

Tennessee still has a long way to go to close the gap.

Running scared until we make it back. That's the last thing I'd like to see. Play Bama hard every year and use the game as a measuring stick instead of b1tching out...

Bama was 14-5-1 against UT in from 60-79. Bama won 11 in a row from 71-81.

Not so sure this is so much describing Bam "on the way down" as positing that it could be harder to remain as dominant due to improvement from other teams. Perhaps, but I see little reason to believe with their coaching and yet another #1 class (including the #1, 9, 14, 16, 17 & 25 ranked players in the country) there's going to be any "decline" in how good they are.

Last season, for example, it would have been more of a feather in our cap to beat Auburn than Bama.

Based on what, the oddest play I've ever seen to end a game? If Bama and Auburn played 10 times last year, Bama wins 7-8 times.

Besides, if Bama has an off year or two, they won't be so quick to fire their NC coach. With their recruiting, they are set to very good for quite some time. Most importantly, I'm looking forward to many future keister kicking games between UT and Bama, finally.

The only direction Parole Tide has to go is down and their latest class shows their going nowhere atm. Yes, they can lose one here and there. But their recruiting is absolutely lights out since 07', and their coaching is always good enough to develop that talent and keep it in a position to win every game. In 2010 they had a couple of losses in the 10pt range, but outside that until OU, even the few games they have lost were contested till OT or last seconds. That's what is amazing about their run to me.
I don't want UT to run from them. I want to see us eventually crumble their empire. Hopefully we have a chance starting in 15'.

So we only play them every year when we're good?

Yeah they really sucked after that 2009 National Championship.

bama is going to be kicking tails for a long time. there roster is so deep with talent it makes my stomach turn ( they red shirt better talent than we had on the field in several years). if bUTch and co. can keep recruiting like this class we should be able to give them a run for their money in a couple of yrs.
