Bama Officiating….

Some of our fans are dumb enough to think when an Oline is holding you most plays and straight raping you other plays that somehow you’re playing soft? When a 300 lb lineman has you by the damn head about to decapitate you while you’re trying to do your job remember not to be “soft”. Game was Fing BS.
Go watch the game and focus on the los. Bama didn't do anything in the second half that they didn't try to do in the first half. The difference was our guys came out in the second half thinking the game was in hand and they lost their edge then never got their feet under them after getting punched in the mouth. Was there holding absolutely and was the officiating as always one sided again absolutely. But that was throughout the game.

Watched the game, always watch the LOS in particular, if you didn’t see more holding in the second half we must be watching two different games. If you didn’t see our wrs being mugged we must be watching two different games. If you don’t think “fair catch” completely F’ed us you were watching a different game than me.

Drives extended by phantom penalties.

I'm thinking that the refes have been told not to make certain calls that will slow the game down. "Turn a blind eye".

I admit I haven't watched every game, to see if this is true or it just feels that way because that's two weeks in a row the refs seemed really blind to a lot of calls, both ways.

And they just so happen to be in critical situations against UT.

Referees are supposed to be impartial. When they are not and the game is affected then the fairness of the game is in question. you could never prove that the outcome was changed. it is provable that the game was affected I.E .. drives extended, players protected, bad field position, momentum changed. The motivation by a referee to affect the game is irrelevant. Here, one team with 9 penalties and one team with 1 penalty deserves scrutiny. After you take out the pre snap penalties, the remaining fiive could have been equally called for the same infractions on each team..ie holding pass interference etc. , but it wasn’t.

Wasn't that bad. We was out coached the second half. Please quit with the whining
While your comment may superficially appear to be true, it is far from the truth. If the officiating were fair and balanced, then the entire dynamics of the game changes significantly. Alabama drives were extended through ghost calls and absurd omission of blatant fouls. With the exception of a dead ball procedure penalty that had to be called, Alabama had no live ball penalties called on them. During the broadcast the camera caught a referee speaking into the earhole of an Alabama player right before a call was made on Tennessee. As an official, I am never one to blame the refs, however, this game was an obvious example of horrible officiating. One might even say, criminal.

The SEC "shorts" weekly video says it all. They call out the officiating going in the favor of Alabama in this week's edition. Funny how they even used a different team that is coming up on Bama's schedule in the skit to be concerned about what might happen since they play Bama in Tuscaloosa.
What is even worse is that the production company is out of Birmingham, and they still mentioned it.

Are you serious? Bama averages almost 7 penalties a game prior to tonight and all of sudden 1.
We also beat Bama in almost every statistical category on offense and yet still lose. Yes I agree about the coaching in the 2nd half. But coaching has nothing to do with 6 drives being extended for Bama by penalties. The refs tired cheating the Vols in the 1st half but we played so well we was able to over come it. 2nd half refs stepped up there game and we wasn’t able to over come it.

Even the announcers was shocked at some of the calls being made and even admitted some of these penalties where ticky tac calls and maybe even questionable. I knew we was in for it when the refs called Milton short on a play where the entire team was past the line 2 yards. Milton entire Boyd falls 2 yards beyond the line and the ref moves the ball back and call 4th and 1. It took the office in Birmingham to change an obvious call. Yes it went our way, but it shouldn’t have had to be reviewed. It was clear right then what the refs on the field was doing. I couldn’t at least 2 PI’s and 3 holds that did not get called tonight and was clear as day. Hell we even had a D-lineman get grabbed by the facemask, get turned around on a pass rush and yet did not get the flagged. We all know Bama committed more than 1 penalty for 5 yards, it jsut wasn’t called
Going for it on 4th down twice on our end of the field might have something to do with it too. Dumba**. Don’t ever go for it on 4th down on our end of the field in Tuscaloosa. Odds of converting their are less than 8%.
