We kicked 2 fgs on two 1st and goals mostly due to terrible play calling.
They held all game, on both sides of the ball. On O, not just passing, runnning the ball also.No way they only committed one infraction all game. Against an aggressive pass rush, they never got a holding call. They were quick to call us for holding a receiver when we stopped them on 3rd down though. They were quick to notice one return man gave the hands out and down fair catch signal while the other one caught the kick and ran to the 23. They were quick to spot the ball short on nearly every close 3rd down run. They did not call an even game by any means. They had their hats on inside out. The A was on the inside!
And that’s why the stopped the play because we were to bust Milroe’s ass!The one flag thrown on Bama and the whistle blown to stop play was also incorrect. They called illegal procedure.
Wrong..The ball was snapped when Milroe wasn't looking. Nothing else happened. The play should have continued, Tennessee would have sacked him or scooped and scored.
Not long ago there was an independent audit of the Chattanooga area high school football results.Truth be told if you've played team sports you've run into "home cookin'" before as well.
Some of our fans are dumb enough to think when an Oline is holding you most plays and straight raping you other plays that somehow you’re playing soft? When a 300 lb lineman has you by the damn head about to decapitate you while you’re trying to do your job remember not to be “soft”. Game was Fing BS.As I said last week, when the Vols win they should get credit for two wins one against the scheduled team and one against the zebras.
HOWEVER, no matter how corrupt the officiating is it wasn't the officials who told the O and D lines to start playing soft after the half. There is no half time speech or adjustment that has you going from exerting your will to the point of driving opposing linemen back into the QB to getting pushed a yard and half back. Not buying into the system and team enough to stay focused and play full bore for 60 minutes is what caused that result. Even if the refs did force the tone of the game to change.
There was a missed call on the TE. It was a hold before the ball was tipped. Half the distance and automatic first down- but it wasn't called. That's not sitting on a lead though. I would go back and look at the plays but I'm not because the officiating was disgusting. I can't remember if there was anything missed during those goal line drives or if it was just execution issues. You take the 3 though.
They also failed to call a runner out of bounds so we’d have to burn a timeoutNo way they only committed one infraction all game. Against an aggressive pass rush, they never got a holding call. The winner was McCminn Central. They averaged 24 points better at home Vs on the road. They averaged 20 yards in penalties at home and 70 on the road and their opponents averaged 85 yards in penalties at McCminn.
Craziness. I’d like to see that kind of audit done for the SEC.
But it was that bad. The inconsistencies. Every ticky tack call that can be called was called on us while blatant obvious and worse “penalties” were not called on them. Refs controlled this game and it’s quite easy to do in a game of team bc he’s. Changes momentum. Can’t get in rhythm and keeps theirs going. Simple as that.Wasn't that bad. We was out coached the second half. Please quit with the whining
Did you watch the game? There were at least 4 blatant holding situations that were not called, including one on the Bama TD at the beginning of the second half where Bama lineman was holding Vol D-lineman as shown in the original post (which would have negated the TD with 10 yard penalty) and one on Bama DB holding Squirrel at the goal line in 4th quarter so that he could not get to the pass thrown to him that would have been a TD except for the hold (first and goal if the penalty was properly called). On a second and 8 in third quarter clear hold of VOL DE when Bama RB McClellan ran for 11 yd and first down, led to field goal. And Vol DB was called for holding after barely touching the receiver shirt on a pass that he would not have caught even if the shirt would not have been touched (third down play gave Bama a first down). By the way, the two missed Bama holds above would led to a touchdown and field goal for Bama, and hold on White in end zone would have been a VOL TD, accounting for Bama getting 10 points and Vols not getting 7, would have changed the score of the game. That is just a few of the missed calls, but oh yeah, Bama did get called for a whopping 5 yards in penalties.Wasn't that bad. We was out coached the second half. Please quit with the whining
