According to Saturday down south... 28 points?? I mean I know Bama is better than the Patriots, 85 Bears, and 72 Dolphins combined, but 28 points seems awfully high.

Early SEC Week 9 game lines | Saturday Down South

They are not going to beat us by that much but it's not that high if you consider a couple of things. We have not been very good for quite some time while Alabama has been dominate for quite a few years. Also they are ranked #1 while we are not even ranked.

How do the Vols beat Bama? This is what I see. In regulation Vols get 17 from the offense with a balanced attack and the D adds one pick 6.

Additionally Bama loses two fumbles. The Vols have no turn-overs. Score tied 24-24 at the end of regulation. The d-line comes on again in the 4th and OT. Alabama gets first possession and a field goal in 1st OT. Croom or North get the TD pass. Final 30-27
Vols.

Stop making up non sense... This is the equivalent to I had a dream and...

I love it! Think I'll skip the game altogether and just remember it this way.

Remember 1982!

I crunched some numbers...it's not a bad spread, unfortunately.

I do think we beat the points.

If we can get about three breaks...turnovers special teams etc...we can win. But it's going to be tough.

But I believe! Go Vols!

Its a good bet which gives me a little more satisfaction. I'll at least get some money out of the game.

I bet a lot of it is bc of the oregon game. Everyone thinks alabama is better then oregon, and look how many points they put on us.

The talent level is ridicules at BAMA. No need to go any further with the orange thought process. No point. Watch replays of your great win against a good team in the east. It may bode well for the future of Tennessee football and history will tell you, if you can coach, you can win there.

But the talent level at ALABAMA is absolutely ridicules.

Go back to 4th grade.... And Listen this time! Good Grief...

Maybe Alabama will suffer from the "Arkansas Effect" like South Carolina did (i.e. beat the hell out of the Hogs and come out flat and unfocused the following week against the Vols.)

Ya gotta' remember, the lines are created with the purpose of getting an equal number of bets on both sides, i.e., the lines are created largely based on public perception. IMHO, the public's perception of us is that we're still a bottom-tier team. On top of that, Bama just throttled Arkansas 52-0. The line will probably come down, but I don't think it will come down much. And as NCFisher said, it's just more motivation for the team. I like it!

If I wasn't a UT fan, I would definitely be betting on them to cover. When I bet on them in the past, they always seemed to play horribly, so I cut that out.

Another chip on the players' shoulders to inspire them I say. I really hope we cover the spread!

The team will have a lot to be proud of if they can keep it to less than 20. They're just so physically superior along both fronts and at QB there's just nowhere for us to go for a big advantage.

I fully expect UT to be extremely competitive against Auburn and Missouri, but just can't envision a scenario where we don't lose handily Saturday.

Look at it this way, Bama will beat us by 7 points each quarter. This is totally plausible.

We will most likely lose but unlike the last several years, we will leave the stadium with much respect from Bama. Just like Fl, GA, and SC. When they wake up on Sunday they'll realize they were in a fight.

I just talked to two die hard Alabama fans and they said "Thank God we're playing at Alabama." I asked them why and they said they were worried and would be a lot more worried if the game was in Knoxville. Slowly but surely the Vols are putting some doubts in some other teams minds.

I think we'll win but not by 26.5 points. No reason too. Saban will probably call the game for us to look sloppy so he can have some things to work on during our bye week before LSU.

This is what I like to hear!

If #117 keeps hurting opposing players like they have time and time again and winning the turn over battle +16 on the year. We walk out of T town with a win straight up. Boneheaded penalties and this game will get out of hand quickly. UA should be 14 pt favorite IMO.

way too high with the history of these two teams

Really?...Whens the last time UT stayed within 26 points of Alabama?...They have massacred us the past 3 years...Until we prove we can stay with them the vegas lines will be high....Maybe this year they prove them wrong.
