Nick Saban weighs in on Vols hit on Bryce Young that wasn't targeting
I thought it was a target and that he'd be ejected, but it gets called differently all the time. I've said for years that the ejection needs to be taken out of the equation and let the league office review and hand out suspensions on Sunday. There's too much open to interpretation to figure it out in a quick review during the game.
It was reviewed during the game, and from the other angle you can clearly see it was his shoulder pad that went into his chest, with the top of his shoulder pad and back of his helmet that hit Young's face mask. Clearly not targeting. The face masks might have grazed but the impact was a shoulder in the chest. Wasn't this play reveiwed during the game?

One of the TV replays showed that Thomas got him with his right shoulder in Bryce’s left chest area. Big man moving at speed into little Bryce is going to cause that head forward whiplash most every single time. It appeared like incidental helmet contact after/as a result of the initial shoulder contact. It was a bang-bang play but CBS did a pretty good job showing the various angles.
