Bang Shootie conversation

The Arisaka has escaped me so far but it’s just a matter of time.

I love mine, but I started reloading. the 7.7 Jap is high. I bought a .43 Egy last week that broke me in ammo. Its going for around $120 for 20rnds. I'll definitely be reloading that.

Where are the Enfields?

I'll get them the next go round. Didn't want to drag them up stairs lol. I'm planning on having a cleaning day Sunday for all the older ones so Ill grab some pictures then.

I picked up a Mark 3* not long ago but the stock had already been hacked

I'll never understand why people hack up old guns. It's like taking a hack saw to a 69 Mustang. Why not take care of it.

I’ve got an inherited Lee Enfield “sporting” rifle. I think an aftermarket company put a new stock on it before it was sold to whichever of my wife’s ancestors who bought it.

Not going to lie.
I love those old guns.
They are like art. Shooting them is relaxing and entertaining. It’s like a yoga meditation where you get to blow **** up.

You probably heard we ain’t in the prisoner-takin’ business; we’re in the killin’ Nazi business. And cousin, business is a-boomin’.
One of my favorite one-and-done movies. It's so good, but it just wipes you out.

Exactly.
Thanks. I overpaid lol

I used to say that a lot. Now if I want it I just look at it as I seen it was worth it. I let the wife fuss about the over paying haha.

I spent 440$ on a .43 Egyptian then 600$ on 300 rounds for it. It was way more then what it was worth, but fun as Hell.

I recently payed more for the ammo than I paid for a K31. Lol

225$ for a no1 MK3 and 400$ for 300 rounds lol

I have been on older calibers. The only reason I got the .43 was due to the brass alone being 8$ per brass lol. Looks as if I'm going to have to set up for everything lol.
I’m going that direction too.
If I’m going to shoot these beauties I’m going to have to reload not necessarily because of cost but availability.

Hmm... reload. Maybe when I finally do retire. Of course, I hope that by then, supplies of ammo are greater than demand. 50 range rounds of 38 special or 357 for $24 & change, tax included. Yep. That wasn’t so long ago. Bring back that pricing.

Went to the new Outpost Armory location in Murfreesboro yesterday. Nice facility. Selection-wise, they're limited like everyone. They did seem to have a better than most assortment of Springfield Armory products. If you want to 5.56/.223 and you're willing to pay a buck a round for Wolf steel case, they had several pallets of cases. They also had some cases of steel case .308 but I do not recall the price. They did have limited quantities of other calibers. I did not see anything I need, but they did have stuff.

I’m sure I’m forgetting several old gun fans.

I was in my favorite hole in the wall shop today. The owner texts me when stuff I like wanders in. Anyway I was holding a Springfield 1898 today. It was in excellent condition. Consignment gun and owner was asking 825$. I’ve bought a lot of stuff lately and was hesitant to spend the money. 30 minutes after I left I got a text that it was sold.

Did I make a mistake?
