Bang Shootie conversation

I was shooting skeet with the model 11 semi today.
Great guns

Was that your Dads old one you got?
You know those was made after Browning a5 and the military used them and Airmen used them to shoot down plane's that's funny sounding but look it up. I guess you know the 1100 is different . The 11 is old . Remington started making the 1100 in 1976 I think.

My model 11 was my grandfather’s hunting shotgun. (Mothers father) the Mossberg 16 was my dads gun.

I remember years ago I was working at a old man's house and he showed me a Ruger he took off a German officer that he just had all fixed up and I was thinking you just devalued your gun. But he wanted it to look new.

Yes Luger and it was taken off a German officer and if he would have let it be it would have been worth a lot but he had it refinished I just shook my head.
I have mixed emotions about it.
I get the value thing. But I’d also like to shoot a nice gun. Lol

I'm Rocky , I want to keep the plug. I guess if I was to shoot clay I would.
Sorry boss, fixed it. You can take the plug in and out. Some states do not allow using a "non-pistol round" rifle to hunt with...i.e., you can use a rifle that shoots .357 but not a 30-06. Generally these states will allow slugs and shoties with the plug pulled. If you shoot clay, a lot of places only allow 2 rounds in the gun. Where I belonged in Oak Ridge was that way. In your backyard.....wail away.

I am no expert but I can google. 1963 is when they started making the 1100

Yep and Remington used to have a SN lookup on their website....may still be there. Mine is too old for the lookup. I know because I sent it in to have the ejector repaired and they told me either 64 or 65, don't remember. I bought it at a flea market for $200. I put a 32" ribbed barrel with replacable chokes on it and bought a camo forearm and stock for it. Remington replaced the entire trigger assembly. I've owned it for over 20 years. When Remington replaced the trigger and ejector with new, they ruined the collectibility and I wanted to hunt with it anyway.
