Barack Obama has a trump card

The bottom line is that there is no historical relevant experience of Obama for anyone to make any assertion about how he'll respond as a chief executive, good or bad. The truth is that he can go either way and the likelihood is that he'll be south of what everyone "believes" because the odds say that far fewer are good leaders than are poor leaders.

Using your reasoning, the same thing can be leveled at McCain.

So much for "executive experience" I guess.
the experience piece of that list was dead wrong. Several of those guys had hardcore military leadership written all over them. Hell, Jefferson was the guiding hand behind writing the big documents that matter to our nation.

Anything trying to say that TR, Jefferson or AJackson had no experience is silly. They might not have had political experience, but that's not a necessity in the least. Leadership experience is a different animal. Most of those guys had it, save Lincoln. OBTW, Lincoln goes down in the middle of the pack without the Civil War.

FDR's true legacy is now coming to light. His programs did little to change our fortunes, but WWII changed his. His programs are now coming home to roost and it's getting less pretty by the day.

I don't understand. It seems to me when you are talking about Obama, some sort of political experience is in fact a neccessity. Palin has the executive, and McCain has more legislative. But with TR, Jefferson, and Jackson, it doesn't matter?

And OBTW, the civil war did happen. And Lincoln did a pretty good job despite his lack of qualifications...by your Obama standard...for the office.

I am lazy, please explain to me how TR, Jefferson and Jackson did not have experience?

Also, Lincoln mismanaged the war for three years because he wanted to play arm chair general.

I didn't say that experience doesn't matter. I said the author of the article was an idiot for trying to pretend that those guys didn't have relevant experience.

Lincoln did what he should have done and what nearly 100% of all other presidents would have done. He held the union together. Events made him great.

Apparently they had no political experience. That is the claim that was made anyway. I don't feel like looking up their biographies right now.

military leadership is being overlooked. Plus the 3rd guy in that group helped draft the most important docs in US history and was a State rep, Governor, Ambassador, Sec of State, etc.

You shouldn't have to look them up.

:eek:k:

TR will always be the greatest president this country has had and that is because he possesed extensive leadership abilities.

People always ride on him but he faced and overcame the NY City political machine holding many different offices including Police Commissioner which he actually patrolled the streets.

Jefferson is self explanatory......

Jackson is self explanatory.......

Apparently the author of that article didn't feel like looking them up either. FDR was Governor of New York for 4 years.
