Barnes calls out Chaz

Im no CRB apologist by any means, but this statement tonight from him may have been the best Ive ever heard! Different game now "kids". You want to be paid like pros, than you'd better start acting and playing like it. The bench is STILL a powerful coaches weapon.

Sometimes unselfish behavior can come from a bad place, psychologically. I think Barnes is on the trail of that varmint and intends to set Chaz free from that... set him free to reach his potential.

Experience with people is a treasure built over time, that takes time to pass on.

Makes me think a good investment will prove to be Barnes' coaching tree. Off court, for sure, and maybe some on the court.

Starting to look to me like Chaz is going to be a huge player for us at home and not much help on the road. Was nice to see other players like Dubar, Zach, and Okpara step up and bring us a win.
Chaz was the straw that stirred the drink on us going 14-0 where he played huge against 3 KP Top 35 teams so I can't totally agree with your take.

Chaz's 3 pt shooting overall has been just as good away and arguably better since our stiffest competition has come on the road. Of course, he is averaging 25% the last 2 games SEC road games so that is a cause for concern but in the prior non-SEC away games against KP Top 35 he shot 54% (41 attempts, 3 games). He's an elite 3-pt shooter so, for now, I will chalk this up to a temporary cold streak as he adjusts to the rigors and demands of playing in SEC road games.

What I think you are reacting to, and rightfully so, is Chaz is not the same midrange shooter in away games. In fact, he is much worse as his hit rate drops 34% when playing away against KP Top 50. He has to be more selective which 2P shots he takes (especially when contested...it's ok to kick it back out) and be disciplined to get to his spots vs. whatever pull-up he can drive into.

Kenecht Went thru a little rough patch about this time last year, if I remember correctly. I thinkChaz is going thru some growing pains due to the elevation is competition. He will settle in and be fine. Rick is forcing him to take on the challenge. It’s good coaching, if he doesn’t push him Chaz it may go on like this all year and hurt Chaz and the team.

Lanier's underlying fundamentals are much like Igor's, they do a couple of things very well, several things they need significant work on, particularly ball handling when required and ability to pass the ball in traffic or when fully defended, when Z and/or Gainey are close by, often times those shortcomings can be glossed over, Dubar has more of the complete skill set, but he needs to get comfortable and confident with the game at this level, the speed, physicality, pushes, shoves, no calls and ticky tack calls from the SEC clowns in striped shirts. But Barnes has assembled good kids, capable of learning and improving, it is much harder to see in season, particularly the rough and tumble SEC season.
