Basilio mentioned... (mystery visitor)

He could have told the staff he would be back in touch in a few days. That would have given him plenty of time to handle things with the other school. That was my point, as that seemed to be main excuse for the level of secrecy.

That is my entire point, in a sea shell.

If there is a Big Fish, that is probably what is happening. Our staff would not expect an immediate acceptance of an offer, but rather would tell him to go away & think about it for a while.

As far as the secrecy, you don't tell your current employer that you're out job hunting. Neither should recruits.

I don't understand where your other ramblings are going, but they won't fit into any sea shell that I know of. Maybe a giant clam.

Once again, I reference Bellamy. He was here, right? He is also committed elsewhere, right?

That alone contradicts your generalization.

As far as my ramblings, just go back a few pages. In one or two cases, many pages. In one case, a different thread now deleted.

No news is good news, I guess.

Bellamy is not the mystery guy, because he was here with Clemson's knowledge. Why drag him into this?

Some schools might take away an offer if they find out their guy is looking around. Why is that so hard to comprehend?

I wasn't saying Bellamy was the mystery guy. I was saying if he managed to be committed elsewhere and managed to make the trip publicly, then that obviously destroys the generalization that recruits need to hide their visits. Why is that so hard to comprehend?

You said you don't tell your current employer that you are job hunting, and neither should recruits. My point was that Bellamy didn't hide it, did he? Why does Bellamy not have to hide his visit?

As far as the schools taking away offers for looking around, that is an interesting viewpoint. It is solid and makes sense. How many times has it happened to a 5* highly recruited athlete?

Once? Twice? How many times?

If it is so common as to be highly probable, I will absolutely bend over backwards to admit how wrong I was in my assumption. If, however, his school has a policy in place that prevents visiting other schools, then yea, I can see the offer being taken back. For rules violations, and rules violations alone.

If his school did have such a policy, and he broke that policy, well, that leads me back to a point I've already made.

Pick and choose whichever of those comments you wish to address, but the only one I really care about is how often 5* recruits have offers withdrawn for visiting other schools.

I can admit when I am out of line. If it is common, without breaking team rules, then I will admit I was out of line.

To go even further, all someone has to do is PM me the name I'll write him a personal letter with my apology; prior to him going public with it, of course. *shifty eyes*

Yeah, i dont feel like reading the 15 pages where I was last.

Anybody got a few sentence update. Or is it just more guessing?

Here is the summary for everyone:

"There is a top secret 5* who is a silent commit to the Vols and came for a secret official visit during the Ole Miss game. He is committed to a non-SEC school right now."

"No there isn't, this is BS."

"Yes there is my dad's sister's brother is on an email list that said so."

Typical rumor thread, nothing substantial at this point. Thought it was interesting that Hubbs did not even address the rumor as he does a lot to either confirm or shoot down rumors.

Probably because someone told him not to for the sake of keeping it on the down low.

If you really want to know just go and find the lost el v thread. Once somethings put on the internet its out there for good and it cant be taken back.

If you do find it note how the thread is approximatly 30 pages long and no one mention a specific recruit that fullfills all the requirements until page 27 28 or so and than all of a sudden 75% of the posts talk about this guy and than the thread is deleted.

So what was the name discussed then? I tried the search with no luck.
