Basillio reporting on his show today that his "insider", X, told him last night that UT's coaches are behind closed doors kicking themselves for taking some of the 3* commits that they took earlier in the year. Little did they know what would materialize with the Florida, Miami openings along with turmoil at UGA and how many recruits would still legitimately be in play for Tennessee at this point in time.

It'll be interesting to see if they're gonna tell some of our commits to start looking elsewhere.

We already have asked 2 (Power and Parker). Why not more if it will help us get a better class?

They have to be selective about whom they ask to look elsewhere if they do any because this type of thing can turn into very negative publicity.. Especially the in state guys..

We may see one or two asked to look but I don't anticipate it really..

That's anywhere. It's the nature of things, if you can upgrade your team then you do it, even if it hurts someone's feelings.

I thought it was not about stars, but young men with character. According to this staff.....

The only 2 I see is Carson and Harris. Downs is a nogo because of Crowder and Saulsberry because of Williams.

Believe that. If they can upgrade this roster with better recruits, they better do it. Screw feelings, this is a business.

This is trash. Nothing is official until NSD, unless you're an EE. Like someone said previously, recruits will be encouraged to look elsewhere.

Christian Harris is all Vol til he signs his LOI. He was the first commit of this class and is an absolute stud on the gridiron.

If this is true though this shows the character of the coaches in that they have a heart to where they can't just with no regret tell people to look around. Some coaches would just be like "hit the road jack" and leave it at that.

I feel like our class has developed to where I couldn't ask anyone to leave unless we were 100% positive that the replacement would be better, and the person being let go could find a place to go. I just don't think Dooley could leave a guy who bled orange out in the cold.

most justifiable reason is grades. Do any of our lower tier recruits have/or potentially have grade issues? If so, they will probably be the first asked to look elsewhere

Question. In an earlier thread I can't find now, it was reported that Crowder and Downs from Bristol both have 4.0 grades, and could qualify for academic scholarships. People were asking if they did that and walked on, would it not count against our total. Then someone else said they would. Couldn't ask that poster at the time. Does anyone know if this could work out, coming in as walk-ons on academic scholarships and not counting against our total? Both are EE's.

But I thought we needed all these 3* guys because of their high character?
