34-30 SC, 0:15 left
I wonder if that hurts more than this?

It has to hurt the same right?

Missouri fans need to dread playing SC when both teams are ranked; clearly the Gamecocks absolutely have their number in those matchups (and do it in heartbreaking fashion too)

South Carolina wins the Governor's Cup and ends the 5-game losing streak to Missouri.

Despite the Tigers valiant effort at whittling away and almost pulling off the comeback after being down 21-6 at halftime, their defense - after holding South Carolina to only a single TD the entire second half in a game their offense scored 24 second-half points in the including 3 FGs, 2 TDs and a 2 point conversion - it couldn't hold out long enough to stop 1 more TD with less than a minute left.

The Gamecocks play an FCS team before a date with a ranked Clemson team and the potential to end the season ranked in the mid-teens at 9-3. Ole Miss and Alabama are definitely going to be some of the biggest Gamecock fans the next two weeks, as every win that pushes South Carolina higher up in the rankings makes the Rebels and Crimson Tide's resumes look better and better in the committee.

Meanwhile, with the loss, Missouri's season is pretty snuffed out. With upcoming games against Mississippi State and Arkansas, while they can still finish the year 9-3, it's definitely still a disappointment...and I wouldn't even argue that both of those are guaranteed now. (though mind you, if you're a South Carolina-Missouri-Kentucky-Ole Miss-level school, an 11-win season followed by a 9-win season...that's probably the kind of thing you and your fans should be pretty ecstatic to get to witness, getting to experience your team hit its ceiling...but they might argue otherwise).
If in this new 12-team playoff you've been looking forward to seeing a team get deflated once its hopes were finally, fully snuffed out in a heart breaker, this might be your team. It wouldn't surprise me at this point to see this team come out flat next week in a closer-than-it-should-be game against Miss State, and I definitely would not be shocked for the regular season to end with them losing to Arkansas. Either way, Missouri will have lost every game it played against CFP ranked opponents, having been outscored 40-109 when all 3 are combined.

South Carolina wins 30-24, reaching for a Pool of 6 Bowl Game and final season ranking that would make for a great year, and stomping out what's left of Missouri's season.
