I think the same thing. If you say anything about it publically, I am sure you will be deemed a racist. Maybe we should form a agency for lack of white people in the NBA, or lack of white people at the WR/RB position. I am just being crazy, but the point is you hire the most qualified regardless of what color they are. For UT, who else was a better fit than Kiffin that was a minority? I cannot think of anyone really. For pete's sake, we are getting ready to have a black president. I know racism is still around, but having stupid agencies and people still pointing this out is only furthering racism IMO.

as if affirmative action hasn't already been proven a unfair failure with university student admissions, they now wan the same failed standards applied to coaching vacancies....here's and idea, hire the best coach for your program that has the best chance of being successful regardless of race, not just because you're afraid of being sued for not hiring a minority coach

i agree 100%. this is getting a little ridiculous. when barkley opened his yap, i saw this coming. i don't think a persons ethnicity should automatically entitle them to a job, it should be their skill level. now i know everyone will say that T. Gills resume is more impressive than G. Chiziks, but Auburn wanted a guy with ties to their program and thats what they got. UT wanted a young "sexy" coach, thats what we got. the only reason this has become such a heated issue about race, and racism, is because of people like barkley and the media.

agreed. racism isnt just a one sided afair, look at white kids that try to get work study jobs in college because their parents cant pay for everything, its dang near impossible, however if you are a minority they will hand you a job

As a southpaw, I'd love to know the percentage of college head coaches who are also left-handed.

I can't yet prove it, but I've got one helluva suspicion that the college presidents and ADs have been colluding to hold us lefties down. We'll rise above though....you can bet your ass on it...one day, we will rise above.

I think their beef has more to do with the fact that there were two possibly three really good candidates for head coaching positions and none of them were taken. Those two were as good if not better than most others who landed good jobs at BCS programs.

What about other minorities? Where are the latino, pacific islander, and Inuit coaches? What kills me is throwing around that there are a lack of minorities, then only pursuing jobs for black coaches. Here's a thought: athletics is a business and directors hire the coach they feel will help their program. If I were hiring, it wouldn't make a damn bit of difference what color the coach was. Qualifications, peer reviews of the candidate, and the interview would be far more important. That's like saying there aren't enough Catholic coaches, or Southern Baptist, or Jewish.

I hate all of this minority crap. Not just in college football but everywhere. The blacks gets jobs everyday who are less qualified than whites for that position and it stinks. If the naacp wants equal then we will give them equal....start a majority hiring practice.

I also dont believe that blacks should be allowed a black student union or a black miss america or a black miss university or a black demacratic caucus or mlk day or black history month. What do you think would happen if the whites had ANY of the above mentioned things.

Well we would be deemed racist and probably another cival war would happen....maybe thats not such a bad idea!!!!

I'm convinced they are doing a great disservice to black Americans. The reason race is such a prevalent issue is because they refuse to let it die.

well if you hadnt noticed latly the U.S. has been leading to this for a long time. the tentions are very high between blacks and whites. It is time for the white man to stand up and say no more to this racial behavior the blacks have bestowed apon our great nation. They have opened the door to a big problem by bringing RACE into every aspect of our lives. It needs to stop now and one way to do it by not allowing this minority hiring in college.
