For what it's worth, most of world history is "white history month." MLK day is just as fair as anything else. America has a history of celebrating heroes, and MLK Jr's accomplishments are very impressive.

I know most of the players in college football are black, but just playing does not make you a good coach, one is the ability to inspire your team and recruit, i have no doubt any race is able to do that, but the other part of being a good coach is a lifelong study of the theory and schemes of football from the coaching perspective not only playing the game and learning how to be good at a single position or positions but the overreaching theory of game tactics...i would like to see some numbers on how those line up between the minority and white coaches because that is what ADs across the country are really looking at

I was listening to doc, jeff, and heather (don't judge me) the AM after sir charles started yapping about auburn and gill. A caller asked doc if there were any minority radio djs or media members at 99.1. Doc said no, there weren't. The caller started to criticize them because of it, and doc mentioned they had an opening for a position last summer and received 37 resumes, none of which were from a minority. The caller proceeded to tell doc he shouldve sought out minority candidates through various outlets.It amazes me how much is expected of athletic departments, and other sports organizations in their hiring process. Find who fits your system and call it a day.

this is something else we can point the finger at the arabs. If it wasnt for the arab slave traders, there would be a good chance that european slavery wouldnt have really taken off, well you know the rest of the story...

The door was opened when those problematic blacks were used for nothing more than unpaid laborers.

I have no problem with this. Its inexcusable to me that blacks dominate cfb yet cannot get a job beyond a horrible MAC position.

this gets may get me on the soapbox of welfare. But the whole seeking someone out is stupid. If you want the job, YOU apply for it, YOU interiview, and YOU are the one that gets hired or not hired. If i applied for a job and got turned down because they had to go find a minority i would be borderline ready to file a lawsuit, wait im white i cant. Its like certain people have the mentality of "ask not what I can do for myself, but what I can get handed to me"

Kansas State had a black coach, Ty Willingham was a black coach at ND&Washington, not college but Lovi Smith and Dungy, Sylvester Croom was a coach, Randy Shannon at Miami

Just a small portion, but still. Why be burden a college with more crap like this? Opinion: No progress for black coaches in college football - College football- nbcsports.msnbc.com

Due to your rant and lack of spelling accuracy I will write this off as ignorance. You cant possibly be serious. The main ones ranting against minorities cant even spell and probably arent qualified to get the jobs the black people are getting. White people dont need these organizations or programs becaucse they are the majority and are already favored from the start. A black person has to work twice as hard and be twice as smart to get the same recogniton and respect as a white person. Go educate youself and stop making UT fans look bad. This thread shows why people think UT fans are abunch of ignorant rednecks.

It's more or less there are qualified african americans that just do not get a shot and like Barkley said there at places that are not so great....Charlie Strong is a guy who has paid his dues but has yet to land a big time job...Syracuse had a chance to grab Gill but chose not to but he will land a big time job next year...it's just about giving the guys a chance to succed

i couldn't agree with that sentence more, its gotten so out of hand that they are threatening with lawsuits to force ADs to go out and have to search for one to interview based solely on race, .....i believe when any decision is made solely on race that by definition is racism...its not the colleges be racist here by definition.......

Every black person I know who graduated has student loans they're paying back including me. If you work hard anyone can get funding for college. What is your point. There are also grants and scholarships only whites can get.

Further proof can be seen at Dales Winning Edge. I went in yeserday to the tent sale. Hundreds of right handed drivers,hybrids,putters. Maybe 20 left handed drivers, hybrids. And 1 left handed putters. The only ones getting the winning edge is righty. :dunno:

I was thinking the same thing, I can't figure out who is pretty funny and who is completely ignorant in this thread.

Comparing a company being forced to go out and find a minority to interview and what happened at Auburn is ridiculous.
