I agree the offense looked awful for awhile, but I think there was some emphasis on running out the clock. Texas is good enough on defense to shut down that kind of offense.

Gilbert has made a few plays you can't say for certain McCoy would have made.

Doubtful. But what isn't doubtful that McCoy would have made many plays that Gilbert didn't or couldn't.

maybe; but texas did get what 5 sacks on them in the 1st half?

bama's offensive production alone (without turnovers) only net them a TD and a FG i believe

and without turnovers inside the like 10, they only scored 2 TDs
