That's mostly luck but it also feeds a belief that you are going to win no matter what. After the fumble in arky game in 98 our guys didn't view that play as lucky. They viewed it as their destiny to win a nc. They were not going to be denied. The same can be said for the barn and their lucky wins. It feeds a belief that if you just keep pushing you will win. FSU doesn't have that. They may come out and crush the barn but if it's close at the start of the fourth my money will be on auburn.
Ftr same thing would happen to Tyson if he didn't knock someone out in the opening rounds. Never underestimate the psychological effect in competition.
I'm not saying there aren't psychological factors. No doubt they are important. I'm saying you can't measure it or know when it will pop up and change something.
i believe in teams of destiny. i don't think auburn caught all of the breaks they did this season (including OSU losing in the last week) to come up short. i feel like every national title winner has a couple of games that they inexplicably won throughout the season. as far as score, i could see this game being FSU rolling auburn or visa versa and anything in between. i won't even bother to guess margin of victory. i just don't see auburn losing.
Like I said back in August, after losing 11 guys to the NFL draft and breaking in a new freshman QB, half of Florida will freeze over before FSU wins another national champio...wait, what?
