BCS Speculation

The facts are the facts LSU has not played anyone any tougher than UA and I never said UA had a tougher schedule.

And in the end all that matters is UA beat LSU which probably hurt our strength of schedule as well. But what can we do when we are forced to play weaker teams in conference play.:banghead2:

SOS rankings seem to disagree.

What would the 4 team playoff be this year? AU, Bama, FSU, and OSU? Assuming everyone wins their conference (except Bama)?

Well, Okahama State will have a better SoS than Bama, if they win their conference championship they will have one more win as well.

AU/Miz
OKa St. (if they win)
Fla St. (if they win)
Ohio St./Michigan St.

If any of those teams loses than N. Illinois, if they win.

How does it work? Is it one team from each conference?

The fact is LSU has a much tougher schedule and Alabama has by far the worse schedule in the SEC. Deal with it.

That is not how it works, that is basically the most fair, Northern Illinois is not going anywhere. SoS was the excuse the NCAA and the big conferences were using... now all the top teams have weak SoS.

Unless you are willing to jump teams with 1 or more losses than it's all a scam.

Bama starts with a full one game lead before the season even starts. :eek:lol:

I look at who each team has played and that teams record. Again not making an argument for UA as having a tough schedule. Just laugh when LSU claim theirs so tough when schools like UT had a tougher one. Go to their boards and listen to them complain about how lucky UA gets because we play UT and they get tough because they play UF.

I see it on their part as an excuse. You deal with the hand dealt and win the games.

I believe there is a selection committee kinda like the SEC and they are currently working out the rules for selection.

I'm guessing they'll have a 1 per conference limit but maybe not.

The numbers have already been provided.

I never said it was tough, just much tougher than Bama, heck everyone's is. :eek:lol:

This is actually one of LSU's easier schedules.

Break it down and match the schedules for me. Show me where LSU stood out and against who.

The numbers have been provided, it's pure numbers.... if Alabama had the name Boise State, they would be ranked outside of the top 10 easy. I gave you the numbers before the season, I think I said Alabama would have the 2nd easiest schedule in the SEC, I was wrong, by far the easiest.:eek:lol:

LSU played Auburn - hard to say they aren't as tough or tougher than UA...

We both played AU. My point is their schedule this year was not tough overall. Not like a few years ago when LSU had a schedule like none I had ever seen for a team.

You gave numbers on LSU based on preseason rankings. Which included a way over rated team TCU that all LSU fans claimed to be a tough team. The same team that finished 4-8 on the season. I guess TCU is still a world beater.

None of the top ranked teams have a hard schedule.. they are all cupcake. It's all about scheduling now...

Human polls need to be taken out of the equation, until then it's a racket.

The SoS is recomputed every week, TCU is actually negative to LSU's SoS as is Arkansas, LSU might move out the top 20 on the SoS this week. Either way Alabama will had the easiest schedule in the SEC by quite a ways this year. Based on numbers if Alabama was named Boise State they would probably be out of the top 10 this week.

OKie St would go over UA most likely because more weight is given in the new system to conference champions. At 1st they wanted it to make it a requirement but I think they argued against it based on a few years back the Big 10 champion would have not been ranked in the top 10 and have 2 losses. But in this years scenario the edge would be given to Okie State based on the same record but they won their conference.

It comes down to winning your games and winning in the SEC gets voted in the polls. Plain and simple. And Saban also is the one pushing for a 9 game conference schedule each year.

Ok St and Bama would both be 11-1. The Big 12 takes three bye weeks during the year instead of two.
