You do make excellent points but I cant agree with you on saying Diamond isn't a great shooter. You do know her and Nared both shot 42.3% from the field not to mention Diamond has one of the best mid range jumpers in the game.I think it's absolutely in Diamond's best interest to go pro now if she has her degree finished up. What's the benefit in staying? Playing pro ball she can make $150-200k+ in the year she would've played as a 5th year senior, and she has a chance to be a #1 overall pick. Next year, the draft is much deeper and her stock could go either way. She also seems to be a player who enjoys the spotlight, and in the W she'll be brought up in every rookie conversation all summer, plus she'll get to play with a top point guard in Moriah Jefferson.
If she stays at Tennessee, the only logic behind it is if she thinks there's a good chance to make a Final Four or win a title. Problem is, Tennessee wasn't a top 25 team this year and even with improvements, a Final Four is going to be a massive stretch for this crew with Holly at the helm. And no one is touching Connecticut next year with the roster Geno is putting together, so I don't see any way that Tennessee realistically competes for a title unless some sort of 180 happens with Holly.
Her game is better suited for the pros and she'll have better opportunity to develop her game than she will at Tennessee.
Also, this may not be a popular opinion, but I think Tennessee will be better in the long run without her in the lineup next year. I don't think she's a toxic player, but a lot of times she doesn't seem to be in flow with her teammates and will have poor shot selection. She isn't a very good shooter and I'd rather see more shots go to Nared or Russell. Also, her body language on the court isn't great, and most of her interviews are very "'me" rather than "team." She gets harped on probably more than anyone, and a lot of it isn't deserved, but I think without her it will give players like Westbrook and Davis opportunities to play big minutes from day 1 and develop into great players early in their career.
A lineup of Russell, Nared, Davis, Cooper and Westbrook could be very very good and pave way for a positive outlook in 2018-19 and beyond.
Uh, its called reading what people post.
You might want to take a breath and relax a bit before you bust a vessel.
Diamond is a terrific shooter .The offense does not take full advantage of her skills. She does take some bad shots at times which skews the perception that she is not a good shooter.Put her in Notre Dame /UConn/Stanford offensive systems and she would standout as the best player in all of the USA.
I do agree that it would be in Diamond's best interest yo go pro because of the non offensive system run by the Lady Vols.Hope she returns but if she logically thinks this decision thru ,she will go pro.
You would need to ask that question of Holly Warlick.IMO it is because Holly doesn't have the x's and O's expertise to do it.I'm not sure where "terrific" falls in the ranking of shooters. I do know that any perimeter shooter that wants to be considered as playing at a high level has the goal of 50% FG, 40% 3-PT, & 90% FT.
As far as putting her in one of those offensive systems......I think her percentages would go up, just like any of the other LVs would also. It is a matter of taking open shots vs contested shots.
My question is: Do the LVs not run offense similar to these teams because they don't have the talent, they don't have a staff to implement one, or they don't want to because they cannot showcase their individual skills in a set offense?

$52 grand is a nice chunk of money in 4.5 months, especially as a 21/22 year old. She'll also be able to sign an overseas contract and likely make another $100-200k during the 7 month offseason. If I'm 22 and the opportunity is to go back to school for a year and start a master's degree that I may never use, or start my pro career and make $150-250k instead, the choice is a no brainer for me.
also play overseas in the same year? Yea, more money--but who wants to play basketball--or any sport--12 months a year? Good way to burn out or get injured. If she can get significantly more money overseas, she ought to think seriously of doing that. Would be fun. Diamond's biggest bb problem is that she is a very inconsistent shooter: too many misses, too many games with a low shooting percentage.
