Beating Vandy

Our defense improved from 112 to 111 this week! I thought we played better with Sal in the coaching box. And the 3-3-5 defense worked well in the first half.

We continued our trend of few halftime adjustments and so Missouri shredded us in the second half.

Losing Curt's speed is going to hurt. I am predicting that Vandy is going to have four turnovers Sat night which might be enough to barely save us.

that game against vandy is going to be a barnburner im afraid..it wont be a calkwalk like 2 yrs ago when we beat them 24-0. Vandy can score and our D better be up to the task or we will get behind early and have to play catch up most of the game and if we are lucky to tie and send it to OT we win on a FG make a bowl game and hopefully beat KY in the last game of the season and finish 7-6 if we are lucky....

How cold is it going to be Saturday night in Nashville? That could be an issue for our passing game

low is 30, game starts at 6 local time. I think we win, and call me crazy, becuase we get turnovers on defense. A. Rodgers brother is good but i think he has trouble this game

Go vols

Your math doesn't work! Are you 10 years old or something? If we beat Vandy and Kentucky we'll end up 6-6! We only play "12" regular season games...not "13"!

Oh! We are currently 4-6 with "2" games left if that helps!

I like the way you are thinking! What is Tyler's track record in cold games? Sometimes the California quarterbacks struggle at night with temps below 40ish.

Music city bowl is only one I can think of...seems he played ok that game? I can't remember for sure?

I assumed he was including a victory in the liberty bowl or something

Cold won't be a factor because when you have a great coach he can motivate the players to be focused 100%...since we have a great coach...um oh snap. cold will be a factor.

With Dooley at the helm facing any proven superior coach compared to him....no good can come from Saturday night.

in fairness to the tennessee staff (and i am donning kevlar as i type this), they gave up only 28 points last week.

which still isn't good, but that was indeed better. and actually the defense only gave up 21.

i just hate the way overtime stats are done, it gives a totally inaccurate picture of the game. i don't know how the situation can be fixed. but, i hate a situation like this where a qb throws 5 td's or something and 3 of them were in overtime.

it screws up offensive and defensive numbers

C'MON MAN. We win on a field-goal. That's funny. But not really.

You just gave the Dooley lovers hope. Hell I bet they'll use that stat as a reason we should keep his non coaching ass on as HC.

Saw this post by CitVol on the KNS site. While I know nothing about CitVol, I thought his post was classic because all properly raised Vols since Neyland and before should despise Vanderbilt, The University of Peabody.

cltvol writes:
"We will beat Vandy. Some things never change. Our worst is better than their first. I don't care if its James Franklin or Jame Buchanan or Franklin Pierce doing the coaching. There has been a lot distracting these boards this week, and the hatred of the bile and dung colored peabody teachers college has been placed on the back burner. George Cafego is rolling over in his used van in his grave right now. Joe Thompson is out there somewhere with disbelief that the Vol Nation is ranting more about the coaching situation than the fact that Peabody U is favored in this game. We will beat them. They suck. Decades and decades of failure cannot be overcome. There is an immovable object of losing combined with an irressistable force of futility. Its like skunk stench and there are no tubs available to take a tomato juice bath. That odor will simply not go away."

Thank you citvol

Not gonna happen

UT competes, early. But the Vols and Dooley find another creative way to lose. Pulling for the Vols. But I'm just not optimistic, guys. Vandy, 45-41.
