I've heard the debate before. Is one better than the other or are they two different bands, IYO?

Two entirely different bands with completely different styles.

Beatles

Yeah, I mean they are both respectable in their style, but I get more excited hearing the Stones. I like early Beatles when they were just breaking out. The Stones have more of an edge.

Yeah, that's the difference. I like a lot of the Stones music. Love all of the Beatles things. Like any music, mood dictates the music.

Stones. Both changed music forever, but the Stones have lasted and evolved. Granted they also still have more living members, but they have endured through time and are still damn good.

And then we listened to the Beatles
Cause that's what's you're told to do
When you're young and empty
And you haven't got a clue.
The White Album from my mother
Rubber Soul from my big brother
And don't you question Mr. Lennon boy
'Cause he gave his life for you.

Stones.

I'm probably one of the biggest Beatle nerds around so I have to go with them. I still like the Stones though. I think the Beatles were the best band ever to be created JMO.

I think I like just about every Beatles song. I think I like about five Stones songs. Which is odd since I'm mostly into hard rock and metal. Pantera, Nirvana, Metallica, NIN, Ozzy, Manson, Pumpkins, Chili Peppers, Tool, Fear Factory, Sevendust and so on. I like a lot of oldies but that's my kind of music. So it's kind of surprising I like the Beatles more than the Rolling Stones... they're just good. Everyone in the Beatles was so talented. They could essentially all be front men.

They were all talented. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be George. He did very well as a solo artist. To me, the Beatles revolutionized Rock, but the Stones made it cool.

Both are among the most overrated of all time (Don't confuse overrated with bad... Most do when I make that statement).

If I had to choose I'd say the Stones though.

I'll say the Stones for "pure rock and roll", but if stranded on an island I'd rather have the Beatles.

I understand that overrated does not equal bad, but how can two bands that forever changed the face of music be considered overrated? And, their music still endures and is popular after 50 years?:hi:
