Been thinking about Hooker

I totally agree with you. Hendon statistically put together the best season we have ever seen from a Vol QB. That’s not up for debate. The injury killed his momentum. Daniels won the Heisman last year without any sort of championship, and Hendon’s team in 2022 was more successful than Kelly last year.
Daniels had almost 5000 yards of offense and 50 TDs in just 12 games. As great as Hooker was, he wasn’t in that stratosphere statistically. Those insane stats from Daniels made up for the one game difference in record.

Sampson should have came back.
Maybe? The real issue is whether or not it's worth burning an SEC OPOTY level season (nevermind risk injury) in a year that's pretty stacked at the RB position this draft or come back and try to build on '24 in a class that likely isn't as deep.

As a Vol fan it's easy to want him back but it's hard for me to say he "should" have returned.

With the Lions signing Bridgewater, might he be demoted to 3rd string?
That could be telling. Hope the best for Hooker. Will he be another Josh Dobbs? Good income and if you can make it till nfl pension kicks it, not awful. Still I think he has potential, or maybe my orange tinted glasses.

We'll see, but it is unlikely anyone would trade for him to be QB1. It's not going to happen for him in Detroit. Even if Goff got hurt at some point, Hooker is only going to sub until Goff got healthy

Always the last part until proven otherwise.
