Been thinking about Hooker

Him not being invited to the Heisman ceremony was just another absolute abomination by those guys. Even worse than the Peyton snub. He was the best player in the country, and I am not sure it was even all that close.
I know what your problem is, I know. Ole Yosemite explained it crystal clear to me. The condition is painful, especially when you insist on holding to it ad infinitum.

I'm not sure he could raise his draft stock very much, no matter what kind of stats he has next season. Couple that with the real risk of injury making his draft stock go down next year, and I can't really see why he would stay.
It didn't seem to turn out to great for Wright. I wished he would have came back and had him and Sampson.

He was solid. Not the best player based on the results UGA and USC game.
Does that mean Caleb Williams wasn't the best player based on the two Utah games and the Tulane game?
Thought this was a team sport?

Believe the difference in your answer is where they were drafted. One had under 5000 total offense and the other had over 3100. Again, Hooker was solid and fan favorite but you’re reaching with Caleb.

I'm not reaching anywhere, as I never claimed Hooker was the best player in college (someone else did). I merely stated that the Georgia and Carolina games don't prove any more about Hendon Hooker than the Utah and Tulane games prove about Caleb Williams.
Also draft status has nothing to do with how good a college player you are, so that doesn't prove anything either.

May want to revisit that last line before proceeding. It’s a view by the league as how both were viewed,evaluated/scouted for the next level. As I said, you’re reaching. Hooker had a nice career he needed the game of his life against UGA and didn’t. If your season is going to end, you need Ty Detmer numbers to have an argument.

Like I said, one had 5000 total yards and the other had 3100 total yards. Not mention the TD difference. As you zig zag your stance, not all things are equal in teams but personal numbers don’t lie.

You're accusing me of having a position that I don't have. I know Hooker wasn't the best player in college that year. Never said he was. Never said he was better than Caleb Williams (he's not). Never said he had better numbers than Caleb Williams (he didn't).
I just pointed out that football is a team sport so UT losing to GA and USC wasn't anymore Hooker's fault than losing to UTah and Tulane was Williams fault, since it is a team game.
And as far as the NFL draft, many view Danny Weurfel as a better college player than Peyton Manning, but the draft status was very different.

Didn’t accuse of anything except side-barring with “team game” stance about an individual award topic. Chirping of another player who had vastly better stats than Hooker.

Now you’re zig zagging two other players from 30 years ago.
