While I hate the pats and the hoodie I have to admit he knows how to get players to buy into his system and his to get the most out of them.

It's amazing the talent we are putting into the NFL without getting wins.

Not really!

(1) Coaches didn't develope talent to their full potential.

(2) Possibly we had talent at some positions (offensive line) but were lacking in other positions, (defensive backs) thus we weren't good enough as a team to win many games.

I wonder how awkward it is for the older guys that were upperclassmen for Butch's first year when they run into Dooley.

maybe we could have if one of the OL guys could have passed the ball. We could have played him at QB. Unfortunately the OL is one of the few positions we've had NFL-caliber talent the last couple of seasons.

It's nice to have him talk about us, and have ESPN break down our former line, but it's also depressing that we weren't able to make more of the talent that we had, particularly in 2012.
2012 was probably the biggest waste of talent on a Tennessee football team, ever. I'll never get over it.

But this past year the skill positions had a huge drop-off talent wise and the defense didnt progress a ton due to not having many new, talented players to work with. We should improve a ton in those areas with the talent we're bringing in (even if they're freshmen).

If this group had the benefit of the conditioning and coaching that they experienced the last TWO seasons, they would have more accolades...they came in as true freshmen and plugged away in that Bennie mess of a program...Heistrand did not want to be here and the performance reflected that...I don't know about the rest of the team ,but McKeefery adequately trained the holdovers and Tiny was a Vitamin B shot of talent...and of course Pittman is a great OL coach...by the time Lawson/Mahoney got to them, tendencies were ingrained that undermined their talent...difficult to coach out in less than a full season..this talent will show out in the NFL imo.

Makes me angry thinking about it as well.

I also get angry when I think about how good we would have been this year if Patterson, Hunter and Bray had stayed.

I think we easily beat Florida and Vandy. Probably beat UGA as well.

8 wins plus a bowl win.

Bray would have been great...cheering...on the bench...because he was ineligible :yess:

Forgot about his little scandal.

Still...we would have gotten to 7 or 8 wins and a bowl appearance with Hunter and CP. WR was a huge weakness.

Experienced/dynamic receivers definitely help us finish off GA and obliterate Vandy :aggressive:
