Belichick 'Volunteers' His Insight

So why didn't we score a bunch of points and run the ball better?

We ran the ball pretty damn well, and protected out QB very well. They problem with our line this year was that they swapped from a man to zone blocking scheme.

All of our O-linemen are draftees IMO

Overrated. This group couldn't convert the game winning 4th and 1 at Vandy 30 yard line with 1 minute left in the game.

Whatever people's take on them is irrelevant. If they all get drafted along with Butch putting a 2 star converted TE as the 1st pick of the draft the year before, the o-linemen should be rolling into Knoxville in the future. Perception is reality.

Just so you know, your total lack of anything even resembling a coherent sentence automatically negates any point you were attempting to make. Maybe try again after the drugs have worn off??

Makes me angry thinking about it as well.

I also get angry when I think about how good we would have been this year if Patterson, Hunter and Bray had stayed.

I think we easily beat Florida and Vandy. Probably beat UGA as well.

8 wins plus a bowl win.
Well, this will be the year we can answer the question how important is the offensive and defensive line, basically 5 on each side versus the other 6 skill positions? We are completely reloading on the offensive and defensive lines but should be much stronger at qb, running backs, and wide receivers along with defensive backs and linebackers on the other side of the ball! Should be an interesting season to say the least!!:gun:

It's amazing the talent we are putting into the NFL without getting wins.

we haven't been sending defensive players. Only 2 since 2010. No lb's or db's since 2009. That's 4 years without. That's pathetic, especially in a league based on speed and teams like lsu and bama sending @ 15 lbs/db's over the same period, not to mention all the other positions as well.
We sent a qb, wr's and a TE last year and scored a ton of points. This year, we send all OL. Again, none on D and none at any positions of speed.
That's why each new coach immediately saw a speed issue. Nfl drafts speed and they haven't wanted our lbs and dbs during this rut.

Not really!

(1) Coaches didn't develope talent to their full potential.

(2) Possibly we had talent at some positions (offensive line) but were lacking in other positions, (defensive backs) thus we weren't good enough as a team to win many games.

Coaching Instability was the main problem. When I look at the coaching lineup from year to year, the problems really got started during the last few years of Phil Fulmer's tenure. Then we had the one year of Lame Kiffin, and the three year Derek Fooley experiment. During those years, Tennessee became a revolving door for assistant coaches and training staff. Several former players have made mention of how that contributed to problems with developing the team.

With that in mind, I have learned that patience is required for Tennessee to improve and play at a championship level in any sport. When hard times come, many fan's first reaction is, "Fire the Coach!" And in today's world where everyone's displeasure is instantly posted to the world, it can have a negative impact on recruiting, the life blood of building a champion.

I am not saying incompetent coaches should not be fired. What I am saying is before anyone calls for a coach to be fired, they should think long and hard. That revolving door has been the biggest problem at Tennessee.

People who sat through the 2002 and 2005 seasons just laugh at this absurd statement.

We had the best offense in school history in 2012 and didnt even crack our full potential. If the coaching staff had been competent in any way, shape or for we could've just as easily gone 9-3.
