1. LSU's Death Valley at night
2. Notre Dame anytime
3. Michigan (their night game this year was their first and it was amazing from TV)
4. An Army-Navy game

Colorado is cool, the mountains as a backdrop. Ralphie (running Buffalo) is one of the best traditions when you see it up close. Hilarious the way they start out with about 10 handlers and always end up with only 2-3 standing at the end.

Swamp and between the hedges (UGA) rank up there though fans are tough.

Death Valley (Clemson) is cool too. Stadium is not well maintained but view is awesome with the lake above the stadium. Running down the hill and touching the rock is a really cool tradition. Really good tailgating and I like the fans for the most part. Also nice to see so much Orange even if it isn't the right shade.

Carter-Finley (NC State) - a smaller stadium but has some cool statues around it. Pretty cool tradition is all the fans hold up their hands wiggling their fingers and
wait for the announcer to yell first down moving their arm and in hand in the direction of the drive. Hope we don't see that too much in September. Have been surprised at how cool the tail gating is. Their fans are pretty cool too. Course it is an engineering school so bit geeky.

Gotta disagree with those bout Bama. Had miserable experiences there, some of the worst fans in the world. Also don't care for Columbia (Chickens). Some really douche-bag fans, even when they suck and get pounded.

All in all, nothing comes close to college football! Big night game at Neyland and running through the T tops all!

Never watched a game but I spent some time on the campus when I dated a girl back in the day. Beautiful campus

What other stadiums are a great place to watch a game? I was kinda wondering on the basis of how nice does the stadium look. How about traditions, stadium electricity, and just a fun all around trip?

Just trying to get a feel for some cool road trips in case the vols go.

I'd make the trip down to Starkville next year. Go eat a The Little Dooey. You will see Jackie Sherrill eat in there quite a bit, especially the nights before the game & has good BBQ. The tailgating is pretty good right outside of the stadium. Fans are very hospitable. There is a Bulldog walk about 2.5 Hrs before the game. The cowbells will get on your nerves after a while. Try to land some club level seats. They are not outrageously expensive. I'll be down there for the UT-MSU game so let me know if you are going. We'll have a nice tailgate set up with Flat screens with other games playing pregame. Drive isn't too bad. Nice stadium layout. Not huge but nice.

Auburn is worth long drive. Fans are ok for the most part. They have the Tiger walk pregame. It's ok but not on Par with the Vol Walk (IMO). Atmosphere is good, especially at night. Good college town (there is really nothing else there buy AU football)

Tuscaloosa is not too bad of a drive and good atmosphere now that they are winning. Not a crazy loud stadium because of the acoustics. Very nice stadium though. Lots of tradition. Fans are decent to away teams and know football. There will always be the few but you generally won't have problems. Good game day and night activities.

The Swamp I feel is overrated but go and judge for yourself. It's loud but not deafening. I hear how bad the fans are to opposing teams but no one has ever bothered me. Day games in September are smothering though. Seats are cramped. Overall a younger fanbase & most aren't too bright when it comes to football. I stay in Jacksonville when i go and usually just drive to and from the game so I can't speak for traditions.

Grew up on Neyland so I am a bit biased. Nothing gets the blood pumping like the Vol walk, running through the T etc. Athens is pretty cool and the women look hot in red and black. Graduated from UF (tough gig for a UT fan back in Spurrier's heyday) and have to say from a viewing perspective the Swamp is pretty cool although had to fight my way outta there a couple of times. Would like to see a few more SEC venues in the next couple of years.

That's cute. You are pretending to have the funds for a road trip.

Best pregames I've been to are Ole Miss and LSU as far as the whole experience- food, people, etc.

Georgia was pretty nice before the game, but after we put 51 on them, I got threatened 6 or 7 times before I got back to the truck.

Only Bama game I've been to was in Bham.

Don't waste your time on Starkville or Fayetteville IMO.

We have been motorhoming to games for 20 years. Go everywhere. See them all. Just start somewhere and GO.

Mississippi State is in a cow pasture. Bring your boots to get to the stadium.

Notre Dame was amazing. Get there early enough to go to the top floor of the library to get best view of "Touchdown Jesus". That stadium is a time machine and transports you back to 1920's. We were there for the Miracle at South Bend game and we did the Tennessee Waltz on the ND field at the Pride of the Southland played.

Don't get too close to Mike the tiger @ LSU...he sprays. You will need an extra change of clothes if this happens.

Alabama was a blast. Fun fans...expect ribbing but they are respectful. Great tailgaiting.

Florida fans were rude, nasty, and vile. To this day, I would walk 3 counties over if I ran out of gas in Gainesville. I will not give them one penny of my money.

Nothing beats Neyland. Nothing.

I'd like to go to at least one game at each of the following:

Penn St. - wanna see a white out
OSU - probably one of the best places to go to a game.
Michigan - It's the big house!
Bama - Just wanna see the Vols kick the Tide's ass in Bryant Denny!
Auburn - i wanna see that eagle fly around!
UF - it's the swamp. hate the gators but can still appreciate a tough place to play.
LSU - heard the tailgating is the best there is.
USC - It's Cali and the atmosphere is probably electric for those games
Oregon - All their **** is cool... i am sure the stadium follows suit.

Only other decent stadium ive been to besides Neyland is the Big house in Michigan. Went to the Michigan/App state game with my sister and her husband. Was loud but no where as loud as a rocking Neyland. (Btw i havent been invited back since then for some reason :) )

USC's stadium atmosphere is not electric. Has part to do with the stadium and part to do with the fans.

Agree, been there 2 or 3 times, was there when they used the halftime crowd to film a segment for the movie The Program (unfortunately never able to get a Hollywood career off the ground with that performance).

One of the worst tailgating setups, also have to be careful and know a bit about the area, can get in real shady areas very easily. Not impressed. If in SC, Clemson is your better bet.

Should give it a try if you get the chance. Nose bleed tickets are only $28. Great view of the campus and lake if you don't mind being far from the field. Also allow you on the field after the game and to touch the rock which is really cool for kids.

I hate to say it but Alabama's stadium was pretty cool looking. My only problem with that place (besides the obvious) was the piped in rap music blasting right in the visitor section's ears.

I agree, Alabama stadium is NFL quality and an amazing stadium to go to. The energy in that stadium is extremely high. I hate Bama, but still a great place to visit. Kentucky, Ole Miss, Kentucky, and Arkansas are garbage dumps.
