Best - Bama win last year
Worst - Loss to Wyoming the first game after the Fulmer firing was announced

Honorable mention for worst that doesn’t relate to an outcome of a game:
The Inky Johnson injury

The worst for me was Tennessee losing their home game to Georgia State. Sums up Jeremy Pruitt’s tenure.

The best was Jennings Hail Mary catch in Athens. So satisfying walking through Athens seeing a combo of rage and disappointment

I still cringe when I see the inky injury

Best: 1974
Going for a win on a two point conversion over Clemson instead of settling for a tie.

Worst: 1975
We were 40.5 point favorites over 1-9 North Texas State. We were playing crappy all day. Tennessee tied the game 14-14 with under 5 minutes remaining, so we had hope.
But right after our TD, they returned the kickoff 98 yards for the winning touchdown. Besides the few NTS fans celebrating, you could hear a pin drop with all of us shocked Tennessee fans exiting Neyland.

Was at the Clemson game, my uncle took me. It was my first game, was 10 years old. We rode in his ‘73 orange vette. Was years later before I understood how cool that was

I’ve been to games since the 70s. I’ve seen a lot. Florida last year was nice. The Arkansas fumble, Neyland going quiet during commercials, and then Cheese, walking onto the field while the rest of the team was already in the huddle, slapping his chest and yelling at the Arkansas Defense “I’m coming MFers….get ready….I’m coming!!!” And having Neyland go crazy…….is easily the grandest moment I’ve experienced in the holy temple of Knoxville.

But that’s just my experience
If I’d been there for that game, brother, I’d be saying the same thing.

The "Catch" by Florida. A clear drop that was called as the winning TD. The worst part was that none of the liquor bottles thrown from the stands hit that cheating ref in the head

Best: 2016 Florida game

Worst: 2015 Oklahoma game or 2010 North Carolina Music City Bowl

Mine were both at same time at Neyland, and not even football related:

Drunk Vols dude-brah one section over was pissed during a random Butch loss-- don't remember which one as there were too many. Guy got mad, loud cursing, and then got rough with his GF/wife/whatever

A middle-aged woman stood up to him and said something to the effect of, "You hit her again and you are dealing with me..."

Suddenly two sections of Vols had her back. No need for ushers nor handcuffs; dude was escorted out by the men of conscience around me

Sad it happened; proud how it ended

UGA/Jennings was my pick for the best also. Lived in GA. since 1980. Nothing better than beating the dawgs.

There have been so many good-yet-bad at the same Vol fan experiences, as I have been fortunate to attended many games

A funny good/bad-at-the-same-time combo was the at LSU "15 men on the field" last play Dooley loss

Walking back to the car after and expecting the usual LSU jack-asses in your face BS

Not one. Every single fan was respectful and said something like, "You guys beat us today..."

Best, the victory over Florida during the NC run. I was there and when Fulmer decided to take the game to OT I was like wth are you doing. The atmosphere at that game was amazing. And yes the 1990 ND game was terrible I was at that one also. But I will say one thing I had a heck of a time the night before the game.

The hob nail boot was one of those where we scored on that long screen pass and I immediately thought “oh no, we left too much time”
I was working that day, and had the sole responsibility of checking the only radio on site for updates, and reporting back to the crews. When we scored that last touchdown, I turned the radio off, thinking that the game would be over by the time I made it back to deliver the news. The news I delivered was that we had won the game. Those who were there that day that I’m still in touch with have never forgiven me for this.
