They still don't receive commission, but they do get incentives for selling warranties.
No they don't. They just don't lose their job. (former Best Buy associate). The management receives the incentives.

Same. I was at Best Buy for a loooonnnng while. Employees are just pressured to an extreme extent for warranties, accessories and expanded services.

Five, ten years ago, the company was willing to pay the kind of wages required to hire competent, knowledgeable sales people. That's no longer the case, that's why I and many others left (or were fired).

Honestly speaking, it's the fault of the internet. Big box stores can't compete with the lack of overhead of Amazon and other online retailers. There's no longer a market for quality sales people in home theater and computers outside of the very high end, and those same screws are already starting to be tightened with mobile devices as well.

I think job security is an incentive =)

But I get your point.

Ok....Best Buy is stupid. Granted other chains may be like this...but they're stupid.

So they TV did leave the one location......and shipped to Atlanta.....just to turn around be shipped back to my location. So instead of a 30-40 minute trip from Murfreesboro to Brentwood, they sent it down to Atlanta, and now back up to Brentwood.

Unreal. This is most definitely the last thing I buy from these guys.

You still waiting on your TV?? LOL

Why don't you shop at HHgregg??

If watching the big-screen TV with your pants off and a bag of Doritos is wrong, then they shouldn’t have couches at this Best Buy

You are buying an extended warranty. Manufacturer warranty is generally only 90 days to a year depending on the product. As someone who has bennefitted from it on a TV and ano washing machine post manufacturer warranty (now that I think about it, throw in an ipad i had replaced with Apple Care), i can say its woth considering on big purchases in the $1000+ range.

I'm not condoning misleading sales tactics.

sales is easy: just tell the truth. how hard is that? if its a good product people will buy it
