Best Coaching Staff in America?

Most coaches have their best classes in the first year. UGA had its dream team class when Richt was on the hotseat. Dabo Swinney constantly brought in great classes with being on the hotseat. Mike London brought has 2 five stars this year and UVA may be one of the worst bcs teams.

Thanks Captain Obvious. This does nothing for me in this argument.

Not saying we won't end up with a solid class. Pretty much based on the legacies. Which is abnormally high for any class at any school nationally....EVER!! Just saying that thinking that 1+ won't drop off or opening it up is just naive. Of course people like u will say if one drops off then we get another and still think it's no biggie.

Good coaches win with good players. Great coaches win with not-so-great players. I understand that Dooley put us in a bad spot, but at some point you have to start asking questions as to why the coaching staff is basically putting out 0 product.

Butch is a good coach, but nothing so far is telling me that he is a great coach, and his coaching staff already have been fired from other programs for putting a similar product on the field. I'm not advocating firing Butch, but if we become a program that accepts performances like this from the team and the coaching staff, then we better accept 4-8 seasons as the norm, because the SEC is not getting easier.

"Pretty much based on the legacies"

We have more than a dozen 4* commits who aren't legacies more than 2 months before signing day. Try again, buddy.

Oh, so there's no evidence...it's just going to happen because we lost this game. I could see a prospect or two decommitting, that's fairly normal, but anyone who thinks there's going to be some kind of mass exodus is a total buffoon who's just riding the post-loss circlejerk.

Where do you think this class ends up ranked? How many 4/5*s do we have when all is said and done?

Ok so u admit that there could be some that jump ship. Thanks for finally agreeing bud.

Someone please just humor me and say that we will have a different OC, DC, AND ST coach after this year is over. I am all Butch, but my God the play calling tonight was atrocious.

While all 3 areas need new direction it will not happen. You will see more of the same next year. When or if the talent makes it back this is a 8 win staff.

But it's a meaningless victory for your argument. Your initial post clearly implied that there could be some kind of disastrous shift in our recruiting ranking, and you more than implied a large number of decommitments.

Now answer those questions.

Naive? We have 31 commits and will probably have 33 when the weeks is over. We will definitely have decommits and it will more than likely being the coaches cutting the fat. Again, you have no idea how recruiting works or how this class is shaping up. Thats what happens when you continue to recruit hard even when you are over the numbers. Win-loss records have very little effect on recruits in the first year, especially with a signature win.

Yes legacies will end up carrying this class. Take them out and and 1 or 2 in-state...mainly Hurd who I'm concerned about because of his injury. Then we wouldn't be where we are at in the rankings.

It seems like the shine is fading on the new staff

It will be interestingly to see how we spin this into something positive

Is it to early for...miss dooley yet??

At least the guy understood the importance of beating the sh*t out of the likes of Vandy. Not just walking up and down the sidelines with a dumb look on his face and arms crossed not knowing what to do.

Dooley lost to Vandy 41-18 last year with Bray, CP and Hunter on offense.

You just completely ignored what I said. More than a dozen. Before December.

Butch is STILL doing an unbelievable job of recruiting when you don't factor in non-legacies.

Like what? Change the whole offensive scheme? Worley started holding on to the ball as the season went on.

Maybe...have 7-8 other runs you can call? If this staff had Manning back there, they would run the read-option. That is not smart. Period.

Good coaches (not great merely good) maximize the talent they have....would YOU call read-options for Worley? if so...end of conversation, we have nothing to discuss.

I really hope he wakes up...but lord...the coaching has been well below average this year. Sorry but it has.

You know this how? What evidence do you have to support this claim? Worley ran a spread offense in high school and their qb at Cincinatti last year was a pocket passer. You don't have to be fast to run a spread offense. This oline is not great run blocking, they are best at pass blocking(which is most important in NFL). We would look like Arkansas if we tried to play under center.

A signature win vs a team thathad their QB get hurt and in the first half of the season is nothing like losing to Vandy at home bud. Also combine with how bad the 2nd half of the seaosn has looked. Never said it was a mass exudos u just assumed that. Just meant that holding on to players in this type of situation is tough when the actual "best coaches in the country" start to negative recruit and open their minds up to something else. U think going bowl-less in CBJs 1st yr..something Dooley didn't do...impresses kids??? think again bud.

Again I repeat the only thing that is going to hold this class together is the high number of talented legacies. The ones that r going to reach out to the others to stay strong. If it weren't for them I would be A LOT more concern that a mas exodus would happen.

He produces only because we aren't even playing one of our 6'4" WR's (Harris, 4* recruit and was an EE), and rarely play our biggest one (Croom, 6'5"). Their evaluation of those WR's can't be any more better than the garbage they are putting production on the field.

What ever they are thinking needs to be re-thunk :)...entirely.

I think the idea is to try to get our best players on the field. Pig may the best running back on the team and he probably is a little out of position

I think he would be better used with more motion and maybe a triple option, with a zone read, then an option to the edge.

I think croom has improved enough to deserve significant playing time; enough that some of these other guys shouldn't see the field as much as they do

You talking about the Florida powerhouse that got beat by Georgia Southern today or some other Florida team. Dobbs can't throw down field because the OC never calls a deep route its all dink and dunk against a 2nd and 3rd string defensive backfield that's playing press cover 1. ANYONE EVER HEARD OF DOUBLEMOVES take a freaking shot and throw one over the top for once.

This is what really annoyed me about the O tonight! We have a 6 ft 4 receiver and not once was the ball thrown high to him. We could have run double moves all night and that would have opened the running game. Dobbs could have thrown them too. This looked like Big 10 football where you play field position and FG fest. It wasn't good to watch!

What are you talking about? Conner Shaw has played in every game this year. He got hurt at UCF but started and played the two previous games before ours and played well. I guess we can blame all our losses on Brian Randolph tearing his acl last year.

You may not be able to notice, but Vandy is more talented than our team. Recruits know this and the coaches know this. We are better at Oline and runningback, thats it.

Lol, UK's 2-8 record has really effected their class huh? How many decommits have they had?

The legacy kids have nothing to do with it. Some of our strongest commits aren't even legacies. Recruits are going to listen to other 17 year olds to see where to spend the next 4 years. Jones has a very good relationship with all of these commitments, and considering we will more than likely be 4-5 over our limit, a decommitment won't hurt us.

Bajakian isn't that bright, in football terms. I've said all season long that we have a distinct size advantage at WR

1) North 6'4" (4* recruit)
2) Harris 6'4" (4* recruit)
3) Croom 6'5" (4* recruit)

...and yet we have refused to use that advantage...even on a hail Mary play....when you need it the most.:loco:  He needs to go back to teaching Math class.

Why can't we throw the ball up to them? WHY?

If the Vols ain't mad they will be after reading the next sentences. Gus Malzahn makes less money than Butch Jones. Malzahn makes less money than 75% of all SEC coaches.
