Best Gameday Food

Just something laying around to snack on during the game.

Had a good friend whose mom made this hot slaw that is best with saltines. Just basic bag of slaw, Hellmann’s Mayo, and ground Cayenne. Mix well. Use what best suits you. Slaw is better over night. Be careful with the cayenne, it will get more spicy over night.

Careful! It’s addictive

I like to mix in some Sriracha before I eat mine. Spicy is good!

We usually mix it up throughout the season but my boys really like wings.
I’ll smoke them, then flash fry them, coat them in my homemade sauce, throw them in the oven for a few, just to make the sauce stick a little.
For my boys, I cut back on the spice/heat a little, add a little puréed pineapple and honey, to make them a little sweeter.
Grilled Brussels, potato salad...
My wife makes a mean chili.
I’ll usually smoke some ribs and a brisket for a game or two.
My boys are also nuts about the orange chicken from Costco!😂 so occasionally we’ll do an easy tailgate and have that, rice and spring rolls.

I tried this IMG_3950.jpegthe other day. It turned out well.
Cut a dill pickle spear into quarters, roll it in thick cut bacon, squeeze cream cheese into one end and season with whatever you want. I used Meat Church Honey Hog. Smoke/grill until the bacon is done. It was a simple but fabulous appetizer.

Chili once October rolls around and its cools off a touch. Very flexible, easy to make, lots of different ways to make it, lots of things you can add to it for multiple people. easy to keep, so you don't have to worry about it getting cold, or getting dry if you get distracted. Portion control is easy as well.

Its also a fall/winter food for me which fits in with football.
yeah, i'll eat chili dogs all day.

God, my wife and kids do that! They think it’s crazy that I eat my steak “plain!”
I have family that do the same. And just as bad, I bring home some excellent cuts and some want it well done. It just ruins a great steak to me.

I can agree with you on the cast iron. I lived in Canada for years and sometimes it’s just to cold to grill outside. Cast Iron skillet is great!
