Alright I’m interested in what LIVE albums y’all love?!? It can be a studio released Live album, or if your a Deadhead/Parrothead/PhishHead or any other jam band kind of guy let’s hear your number 1 bootleg! Post links if you can! I’ll start us off with a classic that will forever be near the top of my Best Live Albums list!

BB King Live at The Regal Theater, Chicago 1964

I generally hate live albums and think most are just money grabs, but I do love Live at Folsom. You get tracks by Johnny that were never recorded in a studio (at least I can't find them), or they sound way different than the studio version (I Got Stripes is more uptempo and grittier live).

I love that I Got Stripes. Had it on repeat for time. Another classic live album for sure

Nirvana Unplugged is still my favorite Nirvana album. When it aired on TV I was burned out on the band because they were everywhere at the time. That set brought me right back into the fold.

Jay Z Unplugged with The Roots as his back up band was solid as well.

David Bowie Live at Santa Monica 1972

Jimi Hendrix Band of Gypsys

Speaking of Bowie and Hendrix, they each have a “Live” at the BBC album. They are generally a collection of various appearances on BBC if you count those.

I'm a fan of Live. Throwing Copper is the easy answer here, but it's fact. The early albums weren't polished enough and Samadhi and Distance to Here just didn't have enough good songs on them. The latter albums just weren't that good.

Am I doing this right?

Fun fact: I'm on leave visiting good ole Johnson City. Coming home is a rare instance where I listen to terrestrial radio. Tonight while driving "I Alone" came on the radio. I have confirmed that I have answered the OP's question correctly.

A few of my favorites:

AIC -- Unplugged
Band of Horses -- Ryman
Cash -- Folsom Prison
Clapton -- Unplugged
Daft Punk -- Alive
Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds -- Live at Luther College
DMB -- Red Rocks
Jason Isbell -- Ryman
John Mayer -- Where the Light Is
Live at Luther College is crazy good. Where the Light Is probably won’t get much respect here, because John just has such a douchey reputation, but damn he kills it on that. Specifically the solo-acoustic Neon, all the trio stuff, and that Intro to I Dont Trust Myself is 🔥 🔥 🔥

Well, not /thread, but a fantastic live album. That Night They Drove Dixie Down gives me chills every time. Love how the crowd roars after every verse. Awesome energy

I think Ronnie Hawkins is the most overlooked performance, probably because he was one of the lesser names. Dude tried his best to steal the show.
