Hard Knox is hardly getting any love in this thread. I'm curious why?

We were fans of Papa John's way back in the day and moved to Dominos. We recently ordered from Papa John's only to find out they're chopping up their toppings into tiny slivers(they didnt use to do this) so they can spread them out and ultimately use less.

Jet's Pizza was easily sub par imo.

Little Ceasars gets such a bad rap for being cheap and fast but I'll never be a snob and write it off. A large pizza and a crazy bread for $7.99 and it tastes good and you can't beat that deal.

Mellow Mushroom is just on another level. The toppings are never skimpy and that dough is so damn good. One of the few pizzas where you actually want to eat the crust. It's not cheap but if you're a fan you get excited to get it.

Hard Knox, A Dopo ... Best in town.

Just not always convenient, and not cheap.

How is Pizza Hut still in business?
For the money I'm going Little Caesars
For the best chain I'm going Blaze
Best delivery I'm a Jet's corner

Best local I'll drive out of my way to get Elidios single slice.

most of my favorites are not really chains in the sense of being all over the place, but local places with more than one location: Nashville Pizza Co., Five Points Pizza, and Pizza Perfect. I used to go to Mellow Mushroom a fair amount. Only big chain I've been to lately that I thought was as good as some local favorites is Emmy Squared.

Pizzeria Donna Stella, Amalfi, Italy
Pizza, wine, other menu items, courtyard, atmosphere, staff… Honestly, there isn’t a better pizza place, even in Napoli.

No one out pizzas the Hut. Seriously though, I do like Pizza Hut pan meat lovers and pepperoni lovers pizzas. And their person pan pizzas can be a really good lunch.

The original pan is a strange mix of awful and amazing. Cant explain it but I'll grab one a few times a year

Mellow Mushroom is phenomenal, but “not cheap” is a criminal understatement. I think last time my wife and I ate there we got a large with 2 toppings and a soft drink, just one because she only drinks water.

I think the bill was in the ballpark of $30. That’s absurd.

Unfortunately eating out has really jumped lately as lunch for 2 at Chuey’s with 1 tea & 1 water was $31 before tip yesterday.

Don’t go to emmy squared then. It’s delicious but you’ll spend that much per person without booze.

We have never eaten pizza in Naples but expect to be there in a couple of months. I might have to give it a try.
OTOH, the best I've ever had was in Venice at a place that had one table and a bar along the front window(5 people maybe) for dining. Margherita.
Cold damp November night might have added to the atmosphere.
