Best player ever to...........

Might that have anything to do with the strength of the eastern conference vs. the western conference?

Had zero to do with it. The Lakers had a losing record against the Eastern Conference in 2004-2005 also.

But don't let facts get in the way of a good Kobe or Rod Strickland appologist lovefest.

Saying Kobe plays defense is about as far as you can go to stay within the bounds of the truth.

do you know anything about basketball? you are really trying to tell me that a player who is regurally voted one of the best defenders by the coaches and players in the league that actually compete against him is a BAD defender?

Link? and i guess the injuries to kobe AND odom had nothing to do with it too.

The Lakers went 6-8 (.428 winning percentage) during that 14 game stretch where Kobe got his first injury that year between mid January and February of 2005. Overall, the Lakers were winning games at a 42% clip with him in, proving that Kobe was a negligible influence on that team, if he was playing or not.

Yet Wade the year before was able to put together a winning record with essentially the same players that you guys are throwing under the bus in Odom and Butler.

i see, so why did the lakers have a winning record the two years after that? oh i forgot they added kwami brown, clearly that was the difference. odom was out for 20+ games too. and that 42-40 record by wade and the heat his first year really proves your point. truly great players the lakers got for shaq. btw: they were 12-16 against the western conference.

talk up Shaq all you would like, but he can't be trusted late in games and he would not have any of those LA rings had Kobe not been the best crunch player in the league at the time.

Yeah, that slouch Shaq... all this guy ever did was lead 3 different teams to the NBA Finals.

Yeah, wasted it to the point that he's among the all time leaders in assists and steals and will be in the Hall of Fame. That's just a total waste. Also, he had exactly zero problems with Pat Riley or Jeff Van Gundy.

You were right about Rod Strickland... that guy doesn't have any issues and has been a joy to be around the last 20 years. I take it all back. Strickland is a class act.
