Best QB in the SEC next year (2007)

He'll do well, I wouldn't go so far as to say he'll be the best.

Ainge will be a Senior next year with another off-season of work with Cut, so I expect big things to happen next year if we can get an existent running game to keep defenses honest.

Thanks for the laugh btw.

Blake Mitchell ....USC....

You guys in Gamecock Nation are great. A month ago you hated Five Points Mitchell, and said "why haven't we been playing Newton all along?" and now you're ready to crown him best QB in the SEC. Keep the laughs coming . . .

The SEC could have a few good QBs next year.

UT-Ainge
UF-Tebow
UGA-Stafford
USC-Mitchell
UK-Woodson
VU-Nickson

LSU-Russell
Arky-Dick/Mustain
AU-Cox
MSU-???
UM-Schaeffer
UA-Wilson

Personally, I think Ainge, Russell, and Stafford will be the top 3 next year, though no team is exactly bare at QB(with the exception of MSU).

Verdict is out on Tebow for me personally. He hasn't had to run the offense for an extended period of time where defenses practice to defend against him.

I wouldn't say loaded. Ainge and Russell are the only QB's in the SEC that I'd qualify as "good." Stafford and Mustain could turn out good, as well. But they're too young, IMO, at the moment.

Blake Mitchell ....USC....

Yeah, that 3-int game he had against Clemson swayed me.

Funny how a couple weeks ago it was "we would have beat uga if we started Newton, Mitchell cost us the game".

Gamecock fans are the worst in the sec. This year they proved it. They give their team ovations for losing (auburn game). They shower the field with trash (Tennessee game). And thats if they stick around to watch past the third quarter instead of leaving all together (Arkansas game).

Tbo plays sandlot ball. He had a little bit of success this year because teams were preparring for Leak.
Ainge will be good if UT finds an offensive line, a runningback and some wide recievers.
J. Russell is a freak when he`s "on."

Two of the picks Blake threw yesterday were tipped balls at the line of scrimmage. Since replacing Syvelle Newton in the Arkansas game after halftime, Blake Mitchell is 83-118 (70.3%) for 1,146 yards and 6 TD's in 3 1/2 games. I think that bodes well for the Gamecocks for next year. It's amazing what happens when the O-line gels and actually pass blocks.

As for fans and quarterbacks, let's not forget how Tennessee threw Ainge under the bus last year.

Don't call Carolina fans the worst in the SEC. That's ridiculous. We are a fan base starved for a winner. Finally, things are looking up and we are feeling good. If you hate us because of Steve Spurrier, just admit it.

As for categorically disputing your "evidence", the Auburn game surprised everyone; nationally. The trash on the field in the UT game was an obnoxious minority (student section) that I am embarrassed to say pull for the same team as I do. They certainly don't make up Carolina fans as a whole. The Arkansas game was a small crowd from the beginning; I stayed until the end.

I've said this on here before, it's pretty easy to pull for a team that wins 10 games year in and year out. How about walk a few steps in our shoes and take all of the facts into account before calling us "The Worst fans in the SEC."

Please.

I would put Ainge and Russell in a class of their own. I just have a hunch that Stafford will come into his own next year. Alot of really young QBs with alot of potential in the SEC.

Erik Ainge the best, Russell close and has physical skills to be best if he puts it all together. Tbo hasn't been tested yet for managing and playing an entire game.

Dude, try using your brain before making light of something like this.

For me tragic is when a school bus goes over a guard rail, falls some 16 feet and four kids end up dead.... when one drunk shoots another drunk over a $20 bet made on a football game, especially the Clemson/SC game, that falls in to my stupid category....and IN MY WORLD stupid is always fair game.
