Butch assured us they were going after the best staff in the country. A big east cincy staff and a couple of guys fired from a failing auburn program? Interesting...

obiviously you have no idea what staff continuity means...and if CBJ feels like he has the best staff in the country who is to tell him he doesn't

I know I know but I'm willing to give him and this staff a shot. Let's see what recruits he ends up with after signing day and then let's give him a year to see what shows up on the field. It's not only Butch Jones' a$$ on the line but also his reputation as well as his staffs reputation. On top of all of that it's Harts reputation since this was his first Football HC hiring at UT.

Head coach fails or succeeds with his staff. He has to be able to chose who he wants. As for Hart, I think his reputation is already mud for a whole lot of Vol fans.

This is totally a dead-horse issue now. Everyone freaks out because CBJ isn't hiring who the posters here think he needs to.

Try trusting who he has with continuity before flushing it all down the toilet.

Yes, didn't Dooley want Steele for DC last year and Hart pushed Sunseri on him? Wonder how that would have played out if we had Steele last year. Might not have even been a coaching search.

No, this one needs to get it right. We are committed already for 18 million plus 1.4. Million buyout plus five million for Dooley over six years plus whatever all the assistants will get. At this point no matter how bad it is I say we are stuck for at least four years.
As of right now UT is committed to at least 26 million, it damn well better work!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder ! If CBJ fails ( hope he is successful) he gone! and Hart, he gone to ! I'm for giving the man a chance to prove himself !

I'll give him two years to show he and his staff can recruit with the top programs in the country and show us he can win a tough game or two. No more scars. If he pulls a top 10 recruiting class for 2014 and wins some big games then he earns a 3rd year. If not, then later Butch.

Some of us have some questions, but you can't bash the unknown. Just sit back and see what happens. Let see how they do recruiting.

Well boys...nothing wrong with being
a bUTch "athletic supporter"

He just shoulda told "all ya'll"
down here in the south during that
sales pitch he did at the press shindig
that "best staff in the country"
tranlates from yankee speak to hillbilly as:

"I'm fixin' to hire all my good buddies"

I reckon we're gonna need a yankee dictionary
for the "language barrier" from here on out...

...just sayin...

Sorry but I just don't see a top 10 recruiting class with this staff and the shape our program is in right now with losing seasons last 3-4 years. Thigpen, Jay Graham and Martinez is our only hope recruiting wise right now.

Bottom line is HS players recruits want to play for a winning program! Trying to be excited but real hard right now!!

I have to agree. I'll be shocked if this coaching staff can get it done but I hope they will.

Look nobody will know what the value of this staff will be until we see players playing hard for the coaches...we all know just 2 years ago we wanted to run Harry Hiestand out of town...because we couldnt run the ball...well ND seems to be 54th in the nation and what keep ND in most games this year until the offense got movingwith the passing game...there was several if not all post on VOL Nation that didnt say they wish we would have keep Pittman...so was it the coach change?? players experience ?? or running backs working with CJG..?? maybe a little bit of all...but not the CHH...

So the staff will be graded in years to come...If the players will play for them...recruiting ...recruiting ...recruiting..when someone behind yu is good enough to take your spot...your 1st team always PLAYS HARDER...players quit on CDD...

Not realistic, financially we are committed to 26 plus millions. He gets at least four years regardless of performance unless he violates ethics etc.

I have really complex feelings about this.

I'm having real trouble reconciling that the University of Tennessee felt our best move was to hire the Uni of Cincinnati staff.

We're going to know a whole lot about this staff before the end of February.

I hear what you're saying, we may be screwed for a very long time if so. Let's hope Coach Jones can get it done.
