Naples Italy was great, loved all the sights, there was a fort on the harbor, when the ship stopped there, unfortunately it was closed

but there was a cop standing there with a Uzi,when we left the ship, looking serious :)

we did go to the top of Mount Vesuvius, it was just a stream of
steam, thank goodness lol we did take a tour of Pompeii too

I loved all the old buildings and streets, even the open air market, with a table full of dildoes and the built into the wall, johns for guys to use, amazing what you see over seas :)

oooh we had rented a couple of vans and the guys driving were wild,we came down off the volcano with no brakes in our van and he was using the other van as a brake on the way down,it was exciting lol

made it to Cannes,France, beautiful city, they didn't seem to much care for the Navy though ,of course most of our port of calls got canceled while we were there

I did make the Polar Bear Club on the way back

It would have to be amazing. I have a friend from SA, and if everyone there is like her, it has to be a great place to visit.

Airfare can be high but everything else is dirt cheap. Every meal was great and i could feed all 7 of us at a 5 star steak house for $100 US. We did all the tours you could do around Johannesburg and saw a lot of history. The people are fantastic.

The Black Angus in San Juan

my my 40 bucks and a hand full of condoms :)

and then I had to borrow 20 more bucks from our Chief Petty Office lol

a bottle of rum was only like around 4 bucks back then, big bottle and the pretty ladies fighting to mix a drink ,that was long before the ugly cootie came along ,aaaah the good ole days :)

Black Angus, that brings back some memories. Last I had heard that place is no longer open.

St Lucia was for our honeymoon and we loved it.

Went to the Dominican with a group of friends and had a blast. Bugs were a mess though

Granny and I went to Iceland for our honeymoon. Granny was so hot she started what is now known as global warming.

Enjoy these trips. It is something I missed out on. I married a wimp. She will not fly or take a cruise so we have traveled most of the lower 48 and Ontario, Canada.

I've heard from several people, the food isn't that great at most resorts in the DR. What's your opinion?

The resort food wasn't bad but they had a couple of nice restaurants we visited. If there wasn't something special going on at night then we cooked food we got at the market. Couple of 40s of Presidente and it didn't matter anyways

You're welcome VG. I have taken my family on several of these. No hidden charges.

I took my family to St. Croix last year cheaper than going to Destin, including airfare.

What are you trying to say, Rasputin?

Heard good things about St. Lucia, and I'd love to go to Israel.

I would say Jamaica for "close-by" tropically vacationing. Switzerland is gorgeous for the mountainy thing. Fiji is fantastic if you can deal with the Huntsman spiders. They're as big (and as smart) as poodles, but harmless.

From my experience in Dominican Republic I'd agree. At least with regard to the in resort restaurants that you made a reservation for. The worst was the seafood at some of the restaurants. I still remember eating lobster that had the consistency of mashed potatoes. It was awful. I don't see how a Caribbean island can have bad seafood.

Now the main buffet where you could go for breakfast, lunch, or dinner? That food was pretty good.

Australia, specifically the great barrier reef. Also agree on London; a great city to visit.
