They have changed it. 3 times since 83. Keep adding more water to make more $$$. Originally it was cut to 91 proof. Then to 86. Now to 80.

personally not a fan of the new label.

as for the whiskey recipe. That's why I drink it straight.

Recently tried this for the first time. To my knowledge, it was the first wheat whiskey I'd ever had. Very smooth, not as sweet as a Bourbon or a Tennessee.

Also picked this up for a try. Not a Beam fan usually but I read a good review for it so thought I'd give it a taste, very pleasantly surprised. The process they use to make it, and the resulting derivation for the name, is pretty interesting.

the Jack Daniels with honey sounds gross to me. I don't like my drinks sweet. Makes me ill.

Wheat whiskey typically is sweeter than other whiskeys.

I love "wheated" bourbon - it's a touch sweeter than its counterparts.

As a fan of wheated bourbon, I'm waiting for a special occasion to open a bottle of Jefferson's Presidential Select, 17 yr that my dad bought for my birthday last year. If you're a fan of wheated bourbon and ever run across this, you have to try it.

Interesting. Through this blog I learned that Makers is a "wheated" bourbon. May explain why I like the Maker's style compared to many others.

Shows you how good my palete is, I thought it was really good but slightly less sweet than most of the bourbon's I've had.
