Not always true.

Majors coached the 86 sugar bowl win at miami against testaverdi.
The offense set that whole year was 4 wide outs and a single RB.
It was a short passing game, but it was there.  He also coached Jeff Francis who put up some pretty good numbers as a QB.
He also was a lot better special teams coach.  The debacle this year in the special teams would have happened under Majors.

Wrong!
You give that win to Ken Donahue who in the space of 4 weeks junked UT's defense and installed and entirely different defense that shut down Miami and allowed UT's offense a chance to win the game

Johnny Majors ran off more top recruits his last 4 years than Fulmer has signed

By that logic we can give almost every win since '97 to Chavis since the defense has consistently carried the program.

Just a simple question, not trying to be combative. Do you mean Majors "ran off" great talent or simply failed to sign said talent because of his personality? There's a big difference. I don't remember any great talent transferring out of here at the end of the Majors era.

The clincher for me was how UT fared against bama under each coach. 9 losses in a row vs. anyone won't happen to CPF.

CJM was the set-up coach and I thank him for that but CPF took them to the top.

Great point!!! Nobody ever compliments or even notices the guy who pours the concrete. All they see is the building that sits on it.

But that building couldnt have been built with a solid foundation. For that, yes, JM deserves our praise. Too bad he wont keep his mouth shut.
