He just received a million dollar raise - what were you thinking he needed and how much are you willing to chip in? Are you one of the one's that also felt we needed to give Fulmer a big raise before he slipped away.
1. See above - 1 M raise
2. I think his contract has bonus clauses
3. He loves it in Knoxville
4. He loves his AD
5. Can we wait till someone else tries to hire him away or are you recommending we just pay him because you are having a good day on the heels of our win yesterday?
6. Cart in front of horse much?
Not at all arguing he shouldn't be paid what top tier SEC coaches earn. I just truly believe all of them are grossly overpaid. Cardiologist doing heart transplants don't make near that. And that's a field that not just.anybody can step intoI assume you expect to be paid like your peers in whatever you do or you feel dissatisfied with your employer and think about other job opportunities.
I also suspect your skill is not anywhere NEAR as scarce as a decent SEC coach. They don't grow on trees. We happen to have found a good one, a very good one at turning around a dumpster fire program and putting us back where we belong.
Seriously, they don't grow on trees and they get paid really good money....... or they go somewhere where they get paid really good money.

I garuntee you'll need a good doctor someday, more than you're ever going to need a good coach.
That’s not as much as you think for all the time and dedication it takes to be the CEO of a football team year round.At.$5mil/yr he isn't shopping at ollies , missus H isn't outfitting herself and the kids at goodwill and he doesn't shop for a good deal on a 2nd hand car.
Supply and demand. No gifted surgeon gives it up to coach football. Don’t really read about cardiologists flocking to soup lines btw.Not at all arguing he shouldn't be paid what top tier SEC coaches earn. I just truly believe all of them are grossly overpaid. UT Athletics generates somewhere around $150M in revenue. It's an enormous business. Arguably there are 2 guys who make the biggest contribution to that revenue: Coach Josh Heupel and Coach Rick Barnes. That's not my point. Given today's coaching salaries CJH is underpaid. But I can't feel sorry for anybody making 5mil
Heupel could go to the Big 12, most likely, if he's interested. I know Aranda was making about $5-6M.There’s no better job than UT currently open unless it’s an NFL job. So sure, he could find him a Sun Belt or MAC job if he wanted to make 1/5th of his current salary.
If Heupel sent out feelers to the Big 12, someone would make room. He's a damn sight better than most there.Who has an opening in the Big 12?
It's a pretty good bet Heupel's kids aren't in public schools and if you think they're showing up in a good private school or at parties or games with friends from a good private school in Goodwill clothes, you haven't had kids in private schools.I guarantee she shops at Goodwill. All women do now
